“Lovely place run by lovely people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We came 3 couples for a weekend in Nazareth and it turned out to be a perfect choice. We had 3 rooms in the second floor with a lovely hall in the middle where we could spend time together.
The staff were most welcoming and friendly. The rooms were simple but had everything you need and were clean.

This was our favorite hotel in Israel. The service was great and we really enjoyed the feel of the guest house. The room was well decorated and we really liked the common area.

It was difficult to find, but once we found it we were really happy with it.

We were a group of four and stayed in the annex, which is on the side of the building and has two bedrooms (one upstairs one down) sharing one bathroom. The rooms were comfortable though not as clean as I would have liked. The upstairs room was spacious and could sleep four. The rooms in the main building are quite different----all open on a shared living room and seem to be more attractive than the annex. We also saw another room on the first floor with an outside entrance next to the main door. This one was spacious and nicely decorated but had no windows at all.

Being in the old city, the inn is convenient to restaurants and attractions but driving to the inn and parking there is difficult. Access to the parking area is very tight; you almost definitely need someone to guide you in and out.

The staff is indeed very friendly and helpful and breakfast is good.

Great place to stay - it is a beautiful place, well maintained, and tastefully decorated. The host, Emil, is extremely friendly with a deep sense of hospitality and extends all manners of assistance to the guests. He is always there with a smile and a ready answer for all your questions. We were really happy to be there and had a really memorable time there. We will definitely stay there again if and when we visit Nazareth again. Thank you, Emil!

I had the displeasure of staying at Al-Mutran in August 2012. My two friends and I had booked two separate rooms for a total of 5 nights. We shortened our stay to just one night since the hotel was very dirty (bathroom, common areas, e.g., hair inside refrigerator). To make matters worse, the hotel management was in denial about how dirty the place was and wouldn't take our complaints seriously (said he was understaffed and had attempted to clean himself, so that should have been good enough). My friends' room, which was on the ground floor and accessible at street level, had a security door that had evidence of a break-in attempt (crow-bar had been used to try to pry door open). Didn't seem too safe! At a nightly rate of $128/single, the whole experience was unacceptable. We had made our decision to stay at Al-Mutran based on the glowing reviews here on TripAdvisor. In my vast travels around the globe, I have relied extensively on TripAdvisor reviews to make lodging decisions and have never been let down. This was the first time where I found the reviews (including very current ones) to be completely off base.

We are very sorry that this guest had a bad experience at Al-Mutran. We like all our guests to leave satisfied from their stay with us.

We should say that that the bedrooms, lobby areas etc are cleaned meticulously on a daily basis. Guests who experience problems should approach our staff or management and we will always go out of our way to solve the problem.

We remember this incident clearly. When the guest complained about her room, we offered to change her to another room but she insisted on cancelling instead. She demanded that she does not pay the fee for a last-minute cancellation, even though she had booked two rooms for five nights during high season. The $128 charge she cites was for the first night plus a greatly reduced cancellation fee.

Our reviews on Trip Advisor are consistently very high, with most being five stars. We hope that potential customers will read other reviews to assess the quality of our accommodation.

I have traveled quite a bit and this was my favorite place that I have ever stayed at. I loved the fact that I was staying in an old Arab home. Most of the building furnishings appear to be authentic. I felt like I stepped back in time. It was clean with new bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious, middle eastern, and lots to eat. Staff was friedly and helpful. Beware when you pull up to it, the outside looks rundown. We were nervous at first. When we went inside and looked around our fears were put to rest. Would love to go back. I HIGHLY recommend this guest house.
