The Hofit Hotel is a pleasant little establishment in Shavei Zion, a small moshav just south of Nahariya.
The Hofit is a small and basic little hotel. The dining room staff and front desk clerks were pleasant and efficient.
Location: The hotel is in a residential moshav and is a 2-minute walk from a small beach for the moshav, and an excavation of a small but impressive Roman-era mosaic floor. You can also easily turn right and walk a short trail to join up with the southern part of the Nahariya boardwalk.
The only downside to the location is you will need to drive to go anywhere to eat, as there are no restaurants nearby. On the other hand, the hotel meals are fine, and the residential location makes for quiet evenings.
Rooms: We stayed in the main hotel; there are also rooms in a separate building. The rooms are spacious (by Israeli standards) and very clean, albeit basic. No balconies. Our room came with a fridge. We and our three children were all in the same room and did not feel cramped.
Like the bedrooms, the bathrooms are functional and clean, if basic. There was a shower, but no tub. Bring your own toilettries, as there is nothing except a wall-dispenser for soap provided.
The hotel grounds are not extensive, but they are well-kept. The small grassy areas were nice for the kids. The hotel also boasts a generous sized swimming pool.
Overall, a pleasant, quiet, efficiently-run stablishment for a quiet family vacation or getaway.
