“Old city charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Still high from my 45-minute stroll along the Shlomo Lehat Promenade (Tayelet), I finally arrived at the old city of Jaffa, where the small and quaint shops, streets and restaurants continue to exude their charm. (The port-city of Jaffa was incorporated with Tel Aviv in 1950 to become the presently-named city of Tel Aviv-Yafo.) Within the old city limits, one may find the Wishing Bridge, The House of Simon, St Peter's Church, the Old Port as well as Andromeda's Rock. The old city charm is quite a contrast to Tel Aviv's urban sophistication. It's worth to stop by and visit.

“Beautiful historic location”

Easy walk through beautiful architecture, slightly run downinparts and ripe for rennovation, expecially along the port front. Look out for House of Simon - you could so easily walk straight past.

“Lovely Area to Spend the Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Great place to walk around, just sit idly, take pictures & enjoy the views. There's an underground city tour offered by the tourist information center & a wishing bridge (that was closed for repairs during our visit), in addition to Simon the Tanner's house (where St. Peter stayed before) & other historical & religious sites.

This was also the place Jonah departed from before being swallowed by the whale/big fish monster in the sea so you know this area is quite ancient indeed & there are still many indicators of that, although modern Tel Aviv is all around it. Furthermore, the views of the sea & beach were beautiful & the place also had a variety of restaurants to choose from.

From thinking this was a short stop, we ended up staying nearly the entire day. The place reminded us of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco & Pike Place Market in Seattle but much more ancient & with some religious significance.

“New Waterfront”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Great new boardwalk with restaurants and indoor "market" with more fun food booths and bars. Sit barstool style for a casual meal. Really fun and nice to see the two cultures live in peace/coexist.
