“Great value for money in the Old Jaffa port”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

We stumbled into this place as it was time for our daughter's lunch and the queue in front of Ali Caravan - where we had originally planned to eat - was way too long for the three of us to wait. So we went down to the port and followed our old rules: go where there are the most people. The restaurant was bustling full when we arrived and the service was very rushed and hectic. The menu is simple: you get 20 salads, fresh bread and a pitcher of fresh lemonade. With it you can order a main dish like fish, kebab, steak, etc.
The food was good and served quickly. The Setting is nice in the old port and the value for money in this setting is great. The waiters got a little more relaxed when the peak lunch time was over. We got hot water to heat our daughter's lunch and the waiters played with her, so I can recommend this place as child friendly.

“Great food with excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

This restaurant is in my opinion one of the prettiest restaurants of the greatest views in the old Jaffa Port. The service is excellent and within seconds of being seated you're presented with about 15 tapas and to large pitta breads.

Is a large selection of main courses starting at about US$15.

We spent an afternoon sitting at the restaurant and it was an excellent choice.

“Delicious Israeli Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Casual place but not as "cheap" as told to us at the tourist information center but we definitely appreciated the recommendation as the food were tasty while plentiful (with all the side dishes), lemonade very much thirst quenching & main courses simply delicious (although we found the chicken surprisingly more delicious than the fish); maybe because of over-expectation from us as the fish came highly recommended by the information center staff, it was a bit of a let-down but still good nevertheless.

The staff also shared that many locals go & eat there & that seemed to be the case when we ate there. However, be warned that the queue can be long & chaotic as there was no line & just a mix of many people trying to get in, get out, get their name on the waiting list, see the menu, check the status & to be within earshot of the "door woman," who shouted out names & blocked the entrance with her leg.

The wait (only around 20 minutes) was well worth it though & service was quite fast, friendly & professional.

“You must visit once while you are in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

Where else would the waiter stun you by covering the table with 27 small plates of Israeli appetizers and a basket of laffa bread and a pitcher of lemonade? This is standard and after you stuff yourself, you can still order a main course of fried or grilled fish or various meat dishes. Finish off with malabie for dessert.
This is an Arab run restaurant that accommodates small or large groups. Many big family groups come here to celebrate various occasions and we have seen tour buses there at times.
It's a fun place to try and we've been there once every year when we visit Israel. Parking on the seaside dirt lot.
