“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

Stayed here only 6 weeks after it opened and it definitely had the character and services to be expected of a Ritz-Carlton hotel. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms very well appointed and with great views and the location can't be faulted.

We have had the privilege and opportunity to stay at many fine hotels and resorts around the world. The Ritz in Herzlia was superb. Without question, the staff was exceptional. They were engaging, accomodative, patient and knowledgeable. We just returned from the property which had just begun the Passover/Easter vacation week and the hotel was in fine form. The suites are exquisitely appointed and state of the art. The fitness center and spa are awesome and second to none. Moreover, the hotel is situated on one of Israel's most beautiful beaches and adjacent to the marina complex. My only regret is that we could only spend two nights. As an American traveling from New York, I'm proud to say that this property is "five star" not only by Israeli standards, but on a world wide scale. Don't miss it on your next trip to Israel.

Dear jchaumette,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful review of our property with the Tripadvisor community. The Shiseido Spa is one of my favorite experiences at the hotel and I am thrilled you enjoyed it. We strive to be your “home away from home” when traveling and hope to welcome you back again soon.

It pains me to give this review because 2 of the employees stood out as exceptional and this review was only helped by them. Those two employees were Judy in Guest Relations and a concierge staffer (I can't remember his name- I think it began with an I and he had slightly graying hair). They both were fantastic, either in resolving our issues or in providing excellent concierge service.

Pros:
-New hotel; everything was spotless and shiny. Wonderful smell of newness
-valet guys were very attentive, always offering us bottles of water each day before our journey
-the pool was beautiful although we wish it were a bit bigger and they had drink service or bottles of water for guests...you have to bring your own
-Herbert Samuel cuisine was tasty
-Delicious chocolates in our room upon arrival (loved the peanut butter one!)
-Was greeted with a wonderful surprise of a bottle of wine and piece of chocolate cake for our anniversary- this recognition is very typical of a Ritz Carlton hotel and always very memorable and appreciated.
-Upon first entering the hotel, the front desk staff greeted us by name even though they never met us.
-Lower-speed internet was included in our rate (not sure if it's because I'm a Platinum member or if it's included in general)
-GORGEOUS 2 bed, 2 bath suite with kitchen, living room and two balconies. Reminded me of my condo in San Francisco except a bit bigger.
-Beds were very comfortable.

Cons:
-It's extremely noisy at this hotel. If you are "lucky" like we were to get a room facing the marina (or the beach for that matter), even with your balcony doors shut, it will sound like a rock concert all night. this is great for teenagers and young college kids traveling but not for adults. Calls to the front desk had been unsuccessful as we were initially told that the music was required to be stopped at 11pm (which turned out to be not true). We had to have our room switched at midnight and we had to be downgraded to a room with a street view. Again, if you can sleep through a rock concert, request a room facing the beach or marina, otherwise you will need to face the land.

-Housekeeping- upon calling housekeeping, they arrived 3 hours later. Service could have been more prompt. Coffee and creamers were not replenished.

-Front desk- we requested a same-day reservation at Herbert Samuel's restaurant. Looking back, we realize that this may have been unrealistic to request on the same day, however, the receptionist agreed to look into this for us. Several hours went by and we heard nothing. We went to the restaurant ourselves and found someone who took our names down and told us they would call us promptly. We made a second visit to the receptionist at 6:30pm and she said she still didn't know if they could accommodate us. 5 minutes later she called us in our room and said she could accommodate us in 25 minutes and that was it. We were pretty confident she forgot about making our reservation in the beginning. What was very positive was that once we turned down the reservation (we needed time to get ready), they called back to offer us an 8:30pm reservation which we accepted.

-Herbert Samuel- I am vegetarian so it was great when they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. Unfortunately when they brought our dishes they brought me the wrong one and it took ten minutes or so to flag down anyone (all the servers and staff seemed extremely busy all night). Once they realized the error in my dish, they made another one rather quickly but unfortunately my husband's dish got cold after sitting out for 20 minutes. I would have thought they would have removed his plate to keep it warm. They also removed the bread from our table while we were still eating it (and after we paid for it).

All in all, the hotel was gorgeous. It was far from Tel Aviv (15-20 min. cab) but many do like the more remote, suburbia location. There were other service issues that were significant but I don't want to mention out of guilt because Judy did such a fantastic job in resolving the noise issue. The one area that the hotel can do better is in service. If I do return to Tel Aviv in the near future, I will need to give it a full year before I stay at this hotel as they are not ready to be open for business as there are too many service issues need to be fixed.

Room Tip: Stay away from water views if you want to sleep. Not good for business travelers especially unless...

What a beautiful hotel and courteous staff! From the moment we checked-in we were treated like royalty including a warm welcome by name plus a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Sea View room (gorgeous!). The views of the Mediterranean were fabulous as well as the marina which the hotel's restaurant overlooks. We had plenty of restaurant options within walking distance; although, I would recommend eating breakfast at the hotel's buffet. The orange juice was outstanding! Make time for a massage and a dip in the rooftop pool after a day of exploring nearby Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Very nice, well decorated, spacious well appointed rooms, location is great.
The staff is very nice, very young but inexperienced (with exceptions, of course) and a few mishaps happened, room was not made up one day, welcome pack from the meeting we attended only got to the room after complaining, air conditioning in the meeting room was too cold and took a long time to fix...
Hope it improves with time, it is a good hotel.

Great new hotel in herzliya marina 30 min from the center of tel aviv. World class service and huge comfortable suites with full kitchens. The hotel has a beautiful spa and gym and great restaurant herbert samuel. There is a shopping mall next door and nice places to eat on the marina, especially the fish restaurants.

The service was top notch and the room was incredible. There appeared to be some electrical issues, and the high tech room suffered from a few glitches, but the location can't be beat. If you require assistance, the bell boys at the entrance to the hotels are the ones to speak with. They simply get the job done.
