We chose this particular hotel, despite the high cost, as it's a member of the Dan chain, which had heard has a good reputation, plus it appeared to have good facilities for children.
What a terrible, bitter mistake!
Rooms were very low standard (similar to cheap American motels you see in t.v. series and films), bathtubs with chipped re-enamelling, public areas with huge stains on carpets and cracked mirrors, staff attitude (particularly reception staff) obtuse, unhelpful, morose, staff service - "what service? never heard of it..."
The only bright spots in the stay were the hours we spent at the pool (in need of complete refurbishment but....) and in the childrens' play areas, which are suitable for small kids. Bigger kids would probably be bored stiff.
On the whole we'd have been better off going to a local pool - it certainly would have been a LOT cheaper and a lot less stressful.
Bottom line - steer very very clear of this hotel. Spend your money elsewhere. Don't be fooled, as we were, that a being member of the Dan Chain equals meets certain standards - it doesn't.
