The fisherman from around these waters are bringing in hundreds of manta rays every year, slaughtered and sold to foreigners throughout Asia, especially China. Manta rays along with sharks and other types types of rays are killed in staggering numbers for a single profit. The best thing to do is make a point of visiting this place and make your voice heard that this is unacceptable. Do not boycott the area as it will only lead to more fishermen needing to make money somehow and therefore more mantas will be slaughtered. Find the tourism office in the area and complain sternly about this practice. Hire the fisherman to go and see manta rays and sharks and pay them well and go out the next day too. Let them understand that if they take tourists to visit these creatures they will be paid for the same one daily. The numbers are shocking about how many of these beautiful and majestic rays and sharks are caught each day. If we do not do anything eventually it will all come back to each and every one of us as the natural balance in our (every animal on the planet) seas finds itself unbalanced and needs to make drastic shifts to again find a balance. Do nothing and you will be the victim soon. Use your voice in any positive and loving way you can and you will make a difference.
