The exterior did throw me off to the point I was about to ask the guide to relocate us. In the end I am glad I didn't. It turns out the Dutch retired couple only rented the place so they didn't want to invest much on the exterior renovation.
We were pleasantly surprised by the room and interior (although a couple more lights will help). They are clean and well organized. The best part is hot water is readily available and the water pressure is strong which is really needed after full day on Flores endless winding road.
Next surprise is the breakfast. Homemade bread, I think homemade jam, good black coffee and egg to our liking. The fruit platter is well presented and give us a taste of all the local produces, oranges, pineapples, mango, banana and passion fruit.
Kudos to the couple. I hope they keep up the good work.
