“Paradise with amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

This place was well reviewed online and deserves it! The food was amazing, all you can eat, fresh and delicious - european/indo fusion. The service from the two couples who own the resort is fantastic, they speak fluent English, French and Italian. Swimming and snorkelling was wonderful and the water is beautifully warm with nothing dangerous like sharks or stingers. The room was comfortable and clean and right next to the beach. There is a library with books in a nuber of languages, and the island is a perfect place to relax and reada book or two. We spent 5 days there and it was the highlight of our trip, I can't recommend it enough. It is all-inclusive but you pay for extras like soft-drink, espresso coffee and alcohol. The wine was expensive and not too great and the cocktails were not so great either so I'd recommend bringing your own if you enjoy a drink.

I don't know how to start in this review, because everybody already made the great review.
This was my second time stayed in Cubadak on April 2012. The first time I already been here on Mei 2009, only with my wives. 2.5 hours drive from Padang International Airport to the south of Padang.
This time we were traveling 7 persons with my friend and our kids, 5 adults and 2 kids.
Bungalow very nice and have a great view to the beach. No air con and TV in the room.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner very great. Very nice combination food, Indonesia, Chinese and Western food, especially "sambal" (Chili) that every lunch and dinner never missed. Frederica told me that they not cooked the same food for 2 weeks. So if you stay 2 weeks you won't find the same food.
Wifi available on the resort, but need to pay extra money.
Snorkeling very very nice, we can do it every time.
If you like diving, Marco or Nanni will follow on every diving trip.
On my stayed, we went picnic to Pagang Island. 1 hours by boat to North Cubadak Island.
Also very nice island with clear water and many beautiful spot for snorkeling.
Thanks to Nanni, Frederica, Marco and Dominique for the service. I will come back for the third time on 2014.

It was a fantastic journey to a beautiful place. The place is very calm and quiet, ideal for rest. The people are wonderfully friendly. They look after us really well and the food is a delicious surprise at every meal. I highly recommend this place to rest, diving, sunsets. Thank you for offering this wonderful place where one has the impression of being alone in the world (a real luxury when you are in Asia)

My son and I recently spent 5 days at Paradiso Village off the coast of Sumatra. This facility is on the back side of an island so the ocean is very calm. There is a coral reef less than 100 feet from the beach with a large variety of corals and fish. Water is fairly clear but not nearly as clear as the Red Sea or parts of the Caribbean.

Lodging is in small cabins on stilts to allow air circulation. Living is out in the open - no AC.

This is a perfect place for those wanting an escape from civilization. This is not a place for those needing 5 star accommodation with AC, bathtubs and room service. We went 4 days without putting our shoes on at all!

Meals are served family style with all guests sharing one or two long tables with the priprietors. Food is fresh and local and of good variety and flavor and plentiful.

Scuba lessons can be taken and short excursions are available to good diving sites.

Room Tip: All cottages are within 50 feet of the ocean - no bad locations.

We stayed 5 nights in this lovely place, our OWB and the large variety of fishes brought back to me good memories of my Maldivian stays. The fusion food is nice,Dominique and Marco are very helpful and friendly.
Only one negative point:the garbage coming from the rivers and polluting the tiny beach every morning that's the reason of rating 4/5...but I'll go back!

Room Tip: if you can afford it,choose the comfy overwater bungalow or try to get a bungalow close to the beach...

Arrived via Jakarta at Padang airport. Pickup worked flawless and fast. After approx. 2 hours car-transfer (where we felt always safe), we reached the little harbour.

Marco picked us up to ship us the 15 minutes to the island. It was relaxing from the first moment onwards!
After settling down in our nice hut (direct opposite to a small beach with everything you need like
- reclining chairs outside of the bungalow
- fresh towels every day
- very clean bungalow with mosquito-net and fan
- mosquito-repellent spray (in case needed)
- …
relaxation started!

While lot's of different activities are offered, we were more on the lazy side and enjoyed watching the land-crabs, snorkelling (fine reef!) and a little bit hiking.
Special was the joined breakfast, lunch and dinner, which generated a very nice atmosphere among guests & team and contributed further to the relaxing atmosphere on this island.

Many thanks to the Paradiso-team for making our stay a very relaxing and enjoyable one!
