“Average coffee and ice cream”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

The restaurant/cafe is nice but we were a bit disapointed with the ice coffee and ice cream we got. But we haven't tried the famous cakes. Might be nice with the live music each Sat and Wed night.

“long lasting restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Good ice cream traditional taste, good place to just relax in night time, but be careful when ask the hotel to find taxi in the street because the taxi driver will ask whether we ask restaurant to call the taxi and if we say yes then the taxi will charge minimum order payment.

“Good food. Interesting history. Fabulous durian ice-cream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Opens from 8am till 11pm. Just across from Tjong A Fie's Mansion.

Good place to stop and enjoy the old time atmosphere: while watch ing the locals double and triple park (seems they quite revere the cakes here) creating astounding traffic jams and
noise.

Chinese, Indonesian and European dishes. We had a lime juice, iced coffee, gado gado and a coconut tartlet. Bill was 50, 000.

“Historical eatery of Medan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

a friend says that this place is a local institution and indeed, her grandparents, parents and now she and her children eat there! this place uses the same oven to bake their cakes as they originally did in the 1900s!
other than their famous butter cream cakes, they serve dishes you could have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
there is an aircon area and outside (non air con)

even if you're not keen on buttery cakes, this place is worth a visit just because its a historical part of Medan... its like a step back in history in a nice cozy way over tea and chat :)
