I highly recommend the Gangga Island Resort. It is a short 1 hour taxi drive and 30 minute boat ride from Manado. Gangga has the advantage of being within boating distance of BOTH Lembah and Bunaken, but I personally found the diving around Ganngga Island to be world class. I have dove at tropical resorts all over the world. The diving at Gangga is the best I have found yet. In addition, the small resort is first class. We had a very relaxing time. The service was great. The food delicious. The best part is the nightly massages at the resort spa. The local Gangga massage is a great way to end a day after 3 fantastic dives. We also took a side trip to a local national park to photo graph the Tarsier, the world's smallest primate. It is incredibly cute, and only comes out at sunset.
