Played the Ocean Course on a weekday for a pretty good rate (179 SGD including return ferry, lunch and express immigration service).
The course was more or less empty, but the two times we hit a snag of slow groups, the Marshall was very helpful and let us skip ahead and come back to play other holes later.
Tried booking online but that failed due to no availability, but when I emailed there was a million flights so i'd say to book via email.
Although the course was called the "Ocean" course, only a few holes are by the sea. Would've been nicer to have more out there. The majority are inside the jungle. Still great but a bit below expectation in that regard.
Nice wide fairways for the most part, but if your ball goes in the jungle then forget about it. Greens weren't too tough, but there were some sloping ones where you could end up the wrong side of the hole.
Caddies were good and fun. Restaurant food afterwards was tasty.
We took a 9:10 ferry from SG, arrived same time in Bintan (1hr behind SG). Hit off at 10:10, done by 2:30. Showered, ate, had a few drinks, and were on the bus back to the ferry at 4:30. Ferry at 5:30, back in SG by 7:30 local time.
Overall not the easiest course in the world, but it does look fantastic. My friends visiting from Ireland and Aus absolutely loved it. I'd be keen to head back
