My friends and I decided to take a break away from the hustle & bustle of city life. From the ferry terminal in Lagoi, It took us a good 45mins drive to get to Putri Pandan Resort.

If I am not mistaken, there are only 8 bungalows on this resort. The bungalow that we stayed had two separate rooms. Each room had a fan, shower room and a bed. Yes. That was it. Nothing fancy or tacky - it was really back to basics. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking. We had our own private beach. That was probably the highlight of this trip. Just a note, you might wanna bring some insect repellent - the sandflies can be quite irritating.

There is only one canteen-looking restaurant at Putri Pandan. The staffs there are friendly and accomodating. The food was reasonably priced and although the menu was limited, whatever selection of dishes we had tasted great. On our last night, we ordered seafood - it was cooked Indonesian style and was fresh.

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place that is nothing like those typical commercialized bintan resorts - and if you are not fussy about having to sleep in a non-airconditioned room with no amenities - then this is the ideal place for a quick getaway. It is simply rejuvenating and you will indeed get to taste the lifestyle of getting back to basics.

Putri Pandan resort is a newly build-up resort, ver nice rooms, still uncommercialised, in a very natural environment and the food is highly recommendable (esp. sea-food!).
