“No problem with Puri Garden Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2008

The hotel is pleasant after all. I got apprehensive too because of the unpleasant experience by one reviewer here.
It was Chinese New year and all the good hotels are fully booked. We chanced this hotel and decided to book it. When we went there, the hotel has a nice Balinese charm with intricately designed cornices all over the hotel. We booked the executive suite and slept soundly through the nite. Aircon is a-ok. Breakfast is not that spectacular buts its good enough to fill your stomach. In front, there's a huge shopping mall that caters almost everything from dining, shopping, clothes and money changers. So far, batam is good only for a 2-3 days visit. Staying for a week can be boring esp for an adventurous traveller as there is nothing much to see.

My girlfriend and I went on a short trip to Batam and decided to stay in Puri Garden after being 'mesmerised' by the balinese outlook of the hotel.

We read and seen the previous review of the traveller and became worried that it would be this bad. We had booked and paid for the trip so sadly, hotel cannot be changed and we decided to leave everything to FATE...

During the city tour around Batam, the two of us started to fidget about the safety over at Puri Garden as we were the ONLY TWO HUMAN BEINGS that chosen Puri Garden Hotel as our accommodation...

Even the tour guides were very puzzled about why the two girls chose this hotel...seemed as though there were some hidden dark secrets...

Closer to 7pm and finally hopped onto the bus for transfer to the hotel...the two of us were anticipating on how it would look...the area...the security...

We were screening from left to right sides of the windows, hopping to catch a glimpse of the hotel...

Then we saw one...we SCREAMED...it was the PURI GARDEN...!!
It was lovely to us...ain't bad after all...

The room was simple and the staff were extremely friendly...
The aircon was out in the middle of night...we made a call down to the reception and we were moved to another room without any obligations...

The breakfast were good for us too...
Everything about Puri Garden Hotel were GOOD to us...
We two "ALIENS" really enjoyed our stay there...

<< seeing is believing...see our photos...>>

the entire batam experience was gut wrenching, mind bending horror show ! i beg anybody not to go, no one should go, terrible place, very dangerous. i was double charged by the hotel. harrased by locals. shocked that the reviews i read prior to my visit did not include any of these truths. this must be told, maybe it will save someone wasting a vacation. very much so, the worst time of my life !
