“It was just fine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

This bridge is just nice to see from a far but another way around when you step on to this bridge and take a photo. However, it's definitely worth getting out of the city and seeing the natural side of Batam. Very pretty views-hard to believe that it is so close to Singapore.

“Passing thru”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

Pass the barelang bridge to had lunch at Nelayan Kelong seafood restaurant. Refreshing view and it takes more than one hour to complete the 6 bridges. Nelayan restaurant serve fresh seafood, garoupa, scallop, crabs, prawns . Worth the effort to eat there. On the way back We stop at Dragon fruit farm , but fruits not in season.

“Iconic bridge for the locals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

The Barelang Bridge or (Jembatan Barelang in Bahasa Indon language) is a chain of 6 bridges of various designs that connects the islands of Batam, Rempang, and Galang, giving the system its name." Ba-Re-Lang". Ba for Batam ; Re for Rempang and lang for Galang. All 6 bridges are of different designs. The bridges were built to connect the island for development purposes. the 6 bridges are called 1.Teuku Fisabilillah Bridge 2.Nara Singa Bridge 3. Ali Haji Bridge 4. Sultan Zainal Abidin Bridge 5. Tuanku Tambusai Bridge 6. Raja Kecil Bridge.

The total stretch of all 6 bridges total to 2 kilometers. Traveling from the first bridge to the last takes about 60 minutes and it is about 50KM. The Barelang Bridge No.5 is a arch bridge with total length of 385 meters and construction started in 1992.

The bridge has now become an icon to the locals. It is more of a tourist attraction. At night it become a lover haunt. Couples like to hang along the bridge. The strange thing is there are no lights along the bridge so couple love this spot...hehe. it is also nice to the see the sun-set from here.

“A big structure of beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

It was nice to see the effort of the people who build the bridge. On the bridge you can get to see a lot of locals either fishing or selling stuff. It was an introduction to their local culture.

“do you really need to see a bridge?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

I can't think of any point why someone would go there apart that there isn't much to do in Batam on a sunday afternoon.
Kind of sad to make the trip to see a bridge...
