I was transferred from BCC Hotel to this hotel for a 1N stay. The hotel is very old - so old that the toilet door is broken and the balcony has not been cleaned for years (see photos attached).
My room was on the 5th floor. There was LOUD bangs coming from the balcony. I peered into the darkness but could not see anything. The LOUD bangs went on until 2am (3am Singapore time). Did not have a good night rest.
The next morning, I took a look at the balcony and was shocked to see a wooden house outside my balcony. That means, anyone could have smashed my glass doors and entered the room any time of the day or night.
The next disappointing thing is the buffet breakfast. There was NOT much variety and the food is very salty. I only took 2 pieces of hard stale bread and a cup of plain tea. I dared not add milk for fear of diarrhoea.
Although there is supposed to be free WiFi, but no use. Can never get connected.

First step in, lobby filled with cigarette smell. Service at the reception was terrible, with horrible attitude and slow processing speed. Free wifi keeps dropping off. Hotel looks old and I'm sure there is better hotels at batam.

I've stayed in the hotel twice, first was around 2011, and last time was May 2013.

Room was relatively big. I even got upgraded by the staff last May, for asking a no-smoking-room, which is not so popular here in Indonesia, where every man seems smoking. It's quite an advantage for you who don't smoke. :)

The hotel, either exterior nor the interior, was not changing even for 2 years. The staff was so - so. The food was average, hence I recommend you to go around the hotel. There's plenty of good food nearby.

If you're a business traveler, you can go here.

Room Tip: If you don't smoke, ask no-smoking room one. Sometimes they run out of it, so you'll be upgr...

For the price you paid staying at this hotel, my expectation was made most of the time. The hotel is located in what is general referred too as the center of Batam, that is Nagoya. The hotel provides all the amenties that one would expect of a hotel in this class, with the added advantage that it is located very near to the Nagoya Entertainment District (to the tourist) or "Kampung Bule" (to the locals).

Food is abandon and if you are hungry in the middle of the night (maybe after a heavy drinking session), a 24-hours KFC is nearby. Overall it is reasonably safe to walk around at night provided you maintain a degree of alertness to your surrounding as you would have practised anyway in the World.

It was a last minute choice booked through Agoda.
The hotel looks old, but room is clean and spacious. Things worked well. No mouldy smell if that's what you fear.

I stayed on the fourth floor and there was constantly some music or sound that affected the quality of my sleep when my friend and I wanted to sleep till late in the morning. Not sure where it came from.

The other annoying thing was the free wireless access in rooms. I had to keep calling the operator for new id & password.

Good massage outlet in a building besides the hotel (Go Massage).

15min walk to Nagoya Hills shopping centre. Not what I consider great location as there are cheaper options. Better to walk than get a cab.

Breakfast buffet was boring.

I wouldn't go back again if I have a choice for that price and location.

I stayed at this hotel from 17-19 May 2013 in their deluxe room located at level 12. Here's my reviews and hope it is helpful for anyone intending to book this hotel:

<Wifi>Though listed as a free wifi hotel, they only issue the log in and password upon request which is only valid for 9 hours. Wifi goes by per device per login, which gives me a hell outta a headache as I have 2 phones and connection is really bad. You get logged out every 6 minutes at least? If wifi connection is important for you, I will not recommend this hotel.

<Location> Hotel is situated just beside Judoh Boulevard. About 10 minutes (really dangerous) walk to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall and 20 minutes from Batam Center Ferry Terminal/Mega Mall. You can also choose to hop on to the hotel's cab at 35'000 rupiah (about S$4.50) to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall.

<Hotel facilities> Outdoor swimming pool is located at level 3 together with the fitness centre. Due to the tall hotel building and the direction of the sun, you can only get sun on the swimming pool at around 2-3pm in the afternoon. There is also a Jacuzzi near the swimming pool but I did not use it as the water is dirtied with fallings from the tree as well as because there is a strong stench of pee.

<Food> Breakfast is buffet style but there is nothing much to choose from. I had omelette for 2 consecutive days. They do have porridge, cupcakes, sushi and other indo food.

<Service> I will rate it normal I guess. Like most of the hotels, the staff were unable to speak fluent English.

<Sleep> Sleep quality is good. Bed is huge, comfortable and clean.

<Transportation> There is no free transportation from the hotel to ferry terminal. Having to pay the higher room rate compared to the other hotels, I feel that this service should've been provided.

Overall, I will still return to this hotel if they improve their facilities according to my feedback above. Otherwise, no I would rather spend my money elsewhere more worthwhile.

Room Tip: Deluxe is good enough. Highest floor is level 12.
