“Worth a return trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2009

Went with my teenage daughter to Tempat Senang for a 3-day-2-night spa package. Both of us enjoyed it very much and in fact my daughter would like to return with friends. What we liked: the ambience, privacy, collection of DVDs for free viewing, food, attentive staff, and best of all the spa. Smoking is not allowed in rooms, which is good, even for a smoker like me because the room smells clean and nice. You can smoke anywhere else in the grounds.

We arrived around noon, were met by Bus the manager, checked in, then went shopping the entire afternoon at Nagoya.

Breakfast option was either Western or Asian. I highly recommend the bee hoon - delicious. After breakfast, we went for the 6-bridges tour, followed by lunch at a kelong. Then in the afternoon - the glorious 3-hour spa session. The cinnamon scrub is a must try!

We checked out the next day early to do last minute shopping at Mega Mall at Batam Centre, before our ferry back to Singapore.

Overall, a fruitful, relaxing, and enjoyable trip. Tempat Senang is a good choice if you are looking for somewhere just to relax and lots of pampering at the spa. Not recommended for young children as there is not much to keep them occupied. However, that may be a plus point.

This was a last minute decision for me (and I got in last minute on a last minute cancellation) on a recommendation from some friends at work. I was surprised to find such a jewel on Batam. I have always enjoyed SPA's but this was my first experience at getting a facial, and I have to say it was great and would do again. My two days were incredibly relaxing. However, I would say this is probably NOT a great place for kids.

The owner also shared the many upgrades that are coming, that will have me coming back. They are upgrading SPA facilities to get it all under one roof, and in May they will be opening a restaurant that will be in line the with overall theme of the resort to include foods from Thailand, India etc. So it seems a great place is only going to get better!

If you are overworked and stressed and need some "serenity now", this is the place.

My partner and I stay for the long weekend in the Chinese room (best pick of the rooms) which was beautifully furnished and has it's own outdoor table setting (great for breakfast and/or candleight dinner) which also has it's own access to the pool and gazzebo area. Friendly staff picked us up from the airport and Jasmine (owner) came to greet us and check us in. Then it was time for lunch (good choices) and our 3 hour spa treatment, which was wonderful. Only issue was that after the facial we had to walk outside to the another area. Then after the massage we had to then move to another room for the scrub and then walk to our room to shower. But I did sleep that night as if I was in the clouds. Jasmine suggested a restaurant for dinner (she arranged for a driver to take us wait and bring us back) which was situated over the water. The seafood was yummy and price was good. Jasmine advised that we were the first expats from Jakarta to stay here.Thank you to Jasmine and her staff for a very lovely & friendly weekend.

the cosy 4-room boutique hotel is a charmer, which looks as good as it does in the website's photos. we took a couple weekend package - 2D1N for $449, inclusive of a 3hour spa session (scrub, massage & facial). everything was great - but if there was one thing i'd have to grouse about, it was the hassle of moving from place to place to for our spa treatment. after the scrub, we had to go back to our rooms to shower off, and then back for a massage, before making our way to the facial chamber. if you want to avoid the moving about, just splurge $40 more on the Thai room - the deluxe suite comes with an adjoining massge room so you don't have to even get out of your room. what bliss!

If you are looking for a relaxing spa retreat away from the hustle bustle of city life, this is it!

My husband and I only stayed 1 night there but the experience was unforgetable. We stayed in the Thai room which has a private outdoor terrace and a Turkish Fish spa. Those fishes really did a good job at cleaning the dead skin off our feet! The bathroom is huge and has a massage bed there if you prefer to hv yr massage in room. Everything was clean and neat.

We went for our spa treatment and the massage was divine. It was done in an outdooor pavillion and you can hear soothing music, birds chirping and the tranquil sound of water flowing thru the waterfall. All these coupled with calming scent of essential oils was enough to put an insomniac to deep sleep!

Jasmine, the owner was friendly and very accommodating. she even got us a cake as it was my husband's birthday. The driver, who picked and sent us to the ferry terminal was warm and he always has a sunny smile.

I would definitely return and perhaps stay 2nights instead!

Our visit to Tempat Senang was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. The natural setting, beautiful rooms, hospitality, delicious food, and fantastic spa treatments all make Tempat Senang a one-of-a-kind experience that we would recommend to anyone. The owner, Jasmine, and her staff were wonderful and welcoming. Jasmine planned my sister's wedding, and it was absolutely amazing. From the lion dancers and handmade decorations to the gourmet feast, everything was so memorable and perfect.

Tempat Senang is a gorgeous and relaxing resort, but there were also many activities to choose from. The golf course that is adjacent to the resort was beautiful, well-kept, and challenging. The spa treatments at the resort are plentiful and decadent, and the Turkish fish pond for exfoliating the feet was so cool. The Seven Bridges tour is also a must-do activity, especially the restaurant on the pier!!!

The rooms were beautifully decorated and well-kept, with outdoor showers that made you feel like you were in paradise. We truly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of the owners and staff.

Just a short ferry ride from Singapore, Tempat Senang can only be described as paradise. I travelled to this lush location to attend a wedding, but it was so much more. Jasmine, the owner, was a most amazing host and had the wedding arranged down to every last perfect detail. The backdrop of this spa retreat is a beautiful landscape of lush jungle, and a wonderful common room/balcony for people to sit back and relax.

Jasmine arranged for Lion Dancers, entertainment from some local musicians and dancers, amazing food, and more! She took us on a trip across Batam’s seven bridges which ended at a picturesque restaurant where we picked out own seafood caught fresh. While eating an incredible meal, we looked out upon a small islands and perfect light blue waters.

My time there was a truly wonderful experience that I will never forget.
