“Average hotel for business travelers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

I traveled to Batam recently and had to stay overnight. A very big plus for this hotel is its proximity to the Harbour bay ferry centre (although new ones closer to the terminal have also come up). The ship like shape of the hotel is interesting. Lobby is grand but a bit dark. Rooms are very big and clean. Must mention it had a 21inch flat screen tv which was just tooo small for a room this size. All amenities like electronic safe, hair dryer, coffee station etc are made available. Breakfast buffet was a let down, very limited choice and mostly for the local palate...For a night's stay it was perfect but if I have to stay for longer will check on other options.

We were lucky to stay at the Hotel, which looked far better than the other ones we saw. Unfortunately there is nothing much to do in town. The best part of our stay was the live band, they played extremely well and was very soothing. The discotheque for sure thumps above 120dB, we couldn't stay inside. Rooms are clean, unfortunately the hot water runs out very quickly and the hallways are not that well lit. All the waiters and room service staff are dressed as sailors as part of the theme.

Overall the structure looks impressive. But I would give this holiday a miss if you looking for more than a day.

Rooms are clean, functional, polite staff. Bathroom are not upto level but clean. No bath tubs and shower area is also little congested but ok. Repeated breakfast menu’s without much options create a little difficulty. Swimming pool, sauna & steam bath is awesome. Hotel is much secured with room key authentication in lift too.
Reception staff was very helpful and efficient. Check in and check out was very quick and prompt. Taxi service facility is also added advantage.
No good option for food (except inhouse) in nearby other than in Nagoya centre which is 10mins drive from this hotel.
Spa centre Adorabella have good stuffs of massages & spa treatments at reasonable cost. Health club is also well equipped.
This hotel has a discotheque which adds colour making nightlife of batam vibrant!

pacific palace is located near the batu ampar ferry terminal(approximately five to seven minutes drive).

the lobby is very impressive, the staff are polite and the rooms are clean, with suitable linen and amenities.for some reason the cabin bathrooms have no long bath and the curtaining around the shower area is poorly designed as water tends to spray out of the shower area and make the floor of the bathroom wet.another feature of the cabin rooms is they are tiled instead of being carpetted. it may be more practical to tile the floor area for cleaning purposes but the rich carpet appeareance is lost.

there are many restaurants in house and the chinese restaurant \has a varied menu, leaning more to the chinese cuisine.

the breakfast is extensive and well laid out. as the restaurant area is huge the breakfast stations like salads, cereals, the beverages, the eggs (prepared to order) the bread and cakes and the hot food areas are nicely spread out to minimise congestion. the quality of the food is reasonably good.i wish to pooint out to the management to consider some vegatarian options in the menu to cater to that category of guests.

the inhouse swimming pool is located in what would be atrium or courtyard of the building and the rooms located along the inner section of the buildinghave a nice view of the pool.

overall this is clean and well staffed property suitable for family stay and for all categories of guests.

Room Tip: inner rooms have pool and the outer rooms have cities views so visitors can select according to thei...

Loved the place. Staff was very friendly, hotel was very clean, neat and well furnished. Stayed two nights in a superior room, loved the huge bathroom. It was the most spacious bathroom i ever encountered in a hotel and marble-tiled everywhere. Overall a very good experience.

Room Tip: The fishing village view is really nice, and try to get a room on the 8th (top) floor

Stayed for a night with extended family on 5 Jan 2013 (Sat). Hotel is in a quiet area opposite Hotel Novotel. Checked in close to evening and was told that they can only allocate 1, instead of 4, non smoking room to us and this is only after we said we had young children with us. Parents and siblings had to make do with stale smelling corridors and rooms on the 5th floor. The welcome drink given to guests during check in was refreshing but you might feel embarrassed to ask the attendant for more. My non smoking room on the 7th floor overseeing the swimming pool was of a decent size and still comfortable to walk around even with a rollaway bed but furnishings (especially wardrobe) were rather poorly maintained and the dirt and stains on the door of the mini bar was very gross. Housekeeping was prompt. Dim sum buffet dinner at the Chinese restaurant was value for money at IDR60,000 (i.e. less than SGD10). The selection and quality of food at the dim sum and breakfast buffet were decent but we were put off by smokers at the breakfast restaurant. Family had fun at the swimming pool in the morning. Staff were helpful at the restaurants but I was upset that the front desk simply and unapologetically said the hotel was full and didn’t give us the non smoking rooms we requested.
