“Not for those adverse to secondhand smoke”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Stayed for a night with extended family on 5 Jan 2013 (Sat). Hotel is in a quiet area opposite Hotel Novotel. Checked in close to evening and was told that they can only allocate 1, instead of 4, non smoking room to us and this is only after we said we had young children with us. Parents and siblings had to make do with stale smelling corridors and rooms on the 5th floor. The welcome drink given to guests during check in was refreshing but you might feel embarrassed to ask the attendant for more. My non smoking room on the 7th floor overseeing the swimming pool was of a decent size and still comfortable to walk around even with a rollaway bed but furnishings (especially wardrobe) were rather poorly maintained and the dirt and stains on the door of the mini bar was very gross. Housekeeping was prompt. Dim sum buffet dinner at the Chinese restaurant was value for money at IDR60,000 (i.e. less than SGD10). The selection and quality of food at the dim sum and breakfast buffet were decent but we were put off by smokers at the breakfast restaurant. Family had fun at the swimming pool in the morning. Staff were helpful at the restaurants but I was upset that the front desk simply and unapologetically said the hotel was full and didn’t give us the non smoking rooms we requested.

Hi all. My family n I had just return frm a short christmas getaway to Batam. Staying in the Pacific Palace was great. We felt comfortable... The staff was helpful...curteous..always smiling...
The rooms are clean...spacious... Breakfast spread was great... What more can I ask for...
Walking distance to various malls...food outlets.... Will definately go there again in d future.

Room Tip: My room at the higher floor was cold enough even when the ac is turned off.

Booked 2 superior double bed rooms. Rooms and toilets were very big and comfortable, but shower water not hot. Brrrr. Service at hotel lobby was good - friendly staff who gave us orange juice while we waited for our room keys. Breakfast buffet was also not bad - wide selection of food. Nice swimming pool suitable for families. The decor of the hotel is grand and pleasing to the eye :) The hotel is about 10 minutes taxi ride away from Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall :) Overall, would say that this is a good place to stay in! :)

This hotel is in a very convinient location and is a good property - never mind the garish paint in the lobby! The rooms are large and spacious with good clean toilets. The bed is confortable and the linen decent. The rates are also reasonable.Wifi available in lobby alone.

However, they just dont understand the meaning of room service.Ask for anything from the room and wait till you die! If you are one of those on business there and dont need much from room service then this is a reasonable place to stay. Pluses are a live band in the lobby every evening, disco attached to hotel, a food court for sea food next doors etc.,

Room Tip: Take a room that overlooks the lobby. You can then use wifi from the balcony and watch the world go...

We booked 2 cabin room from 12/11/2012 - 13/11/2012. Upon landed on the entrance, I was amazed by the design of this hotel as if there was a real cruise that has accidentally landed ashore.
Staff were friendly & welcoming. When we check-in at the front counter we are served by IKA, she was not only helpful but very courteous. Breakfast was served at ground floor.Food was generously layed out and with many asian varieties.
Only setback is there are no major shopping centers nearby. Nearest eatery is at Windsor Food Court, BCS (Batam City Square) etc.
Latest Update on ferry issue: If you are going from Harbour Front to Harbour Bay, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT purchase ferry tickets from WAVEMASTER - Berlian Ferry Pte Ltd. Their ferry can last minute cancelled the trip without passengers knowledge. These is due to that they refused to pay the sea port tax over at Batam Ferry Terminal. So we were left stranded at Batam but luckily we managed to go Sekupang Ferry Terminal to buy our return trip from Batam Fast. Came back we went to Berlian Office, they not even feel apologetic but just say, well we will refund you half the price of the returned trip ticket. Very irresponsible ferry company. JUST SHARED THE BAD EXPERIENCE ON THE FERRY ISSUES.
God bless everyone & enjoy your pleasant trips there, mates.

The entire place has an aqua-centric theme: from bellhops with marine uniforms to waiters having navy garb, this place seems to glorify anything that's related to water or the sea. Check out the huge statue of Neptune at the lobby. There is only so much gaudiness that one can take. Nevertheless its a decent functional hotel providing sufficient comfort for tired shoppers or weekend trippers. Like many places in Batam, this place certainly needs some maintenance care. It's really a good place if you are not fussy about needing everything to work 100%. Party goers and revelers wouldn't mind this place as there's a seriously LOUD disco downstairs that reaches out even to those at the upper floor. Overall, if the price is right, go for it.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floor if you mind the music from the disco
