“A Unique Cozy Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

It’s my return trip to Batam, and this time I stayed at Pacific Palace Hotel.
It’s the first time I came here, and I can’t help to notice the unique design of the hotel.
The building it self was built in a shape of a cruise ship, while the staff dresses like sailors (apart from the HK personnel).

The interior design in the lobby and restaurant, as well as their lounge looks like mixture of oriental and old Greek design and they even uses some of the old Greek Good’s name for their venue such as Athena (restaurant) and Neptune (lounge). The overall 1st floor interior design gave a warm rustic feeling, which i find quite nice.

I took a Executive Suite room, and the room was spacious. It got a living room with couch and a small dining table for three and a mini refrigerator. In the bed room, it got a king size bed, a wardrobe with a small electrically locked safe deposit box in it.
The bath room was also nice.
Apart from all that, they only provide a cable based internet connection in the room (free), while the Wi-Fi only available in the public area like the lobby.

They dedicated the 3rd floor of the hotel for the recreational facilities. The swimming pool, fitness center, massage and relaxation and salon lies in this floor. I particularly loved the swimming pool, because it was accompanied with 2 whirl pool, a pool for kids and table tennis facilities that you can use for free…. A great way to spend some time.

At night, I hit the lounge and find a live acoustic band performing there. They serve up all kinds of drinks (well, not all kinds, but a wide variety). The combination of the furnishing, lights and a live acoustic band really works well for me.

Breakfast was served in buffet style in the Athena restaurant. They provide quite a lot of various foods, and the food it self tasted quite good. Too bad I haven’t tried the ala carte menu, perhaps next time….

There’s a discotheque right next to the hotel (still in the same building), but I haven’t visit it yet cause I’m not into loud music. There is also a food court lies right next to the shore line, but I also haven’t visit this spot.

All in all, I find Pacific Palace Hotel as a nice place to stay, with a unique touch in the design both exterior and interior. Great lounge and swimming pool coupled with friendly staff.

Loved this hotel and looking forward to my next visit.
Check my photos of this hotel, hope it helps

By the way, the hotel lies in Jodoh area, quite away from Nagoya (where people used tho shop), but had a shopping mall nearby, the Harbourbay mall (and e Ferry terminal to Singapore - the Harbourbay Ferry terminal) so keep this in mind

Room Tip: Chose room at a floor higher than 5, and at the rear end oh the ship (building) or at the front end...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Stayed on June 7, 2012 - June 9, 2012

+ The room's very spacious, clean and good decor.
+ Housekeeping team OK
+ Good service from Front Office staff
+ Strategic place
+ Various breakfast menu
+ Nice lobby

- Found plastic wrap in food, in 2 different dishes
- FB Service staff need more training on taking order and how to take note on guest complaint
- Pool side atmosphere not very good

Overall,
it's OK.
Just FB Dept needs more improvements.

Cheers! :)

The room is spacious and the facilities are decent but the location is very bad. One has to take a cab out as the hotel is out of nowhere, just very near the ferry terminal. At the check-in area, there was a man who kept smoking and blew smoke into the guests who are queuing up. There is a no-smoking sign at the reception but the staff made no effort to advise him from smoking.

Room Tip: All the rooms are ok

The room service staff insist to pay 100,000 Rp because there were pencil marks on the bed covers. She claims theres no laundry in the hotel and no receipts were issued. The restaurant staff very choosy towards guest during our breakfast. See indonesians no up, but very nice to foreigners. But our superior room was quite ok...

The hotel looks grand from the entrance but service wise is not that great. They do not provide shuttle service to nearby shopping mall like "Nagoya Hill Mall" which other hotels in Batam did.
Room (cabin room) is quite moderate size. But toilet pretty small and there is no bathtub avail.
Bedroom slippers was provided but only 1 set, same as toothbrush. No bathrobe provided.
Breakfast was awesome. Lots of varieties. It started from 6am to 10am.
There is a club within the hotel premises, but could be dangerous for solos. And the atmosphere was pitched dark.
Ensure you have sufficient cash flow as the ATM machine or money changer will not be available around the hotel and the hotel exchange rate is super ridiculously low.

Room Tip: It would be great if you could have the executive room instead. But do not expect too much on view w...

Since we have a stop over at Singapore we thought visiting Batam Island for a few days. Accordingly booked 4 deluxe rooms through Agoda @ US$ 70++. From the Singapore Harbour Ferry Terminal booked the return ticket to Batam Harbour Ferry Terminal at SG$ 48 (Oneway SG$ 42) on Wavemaster. Pacific Palace Hotel is 10 minute walking distance from Batam Harbour Ferry Terminal . However took a cab to Hotel at RP 54000 (7 SG$)

Though we have reached the hotel around 9.30 am they have given us two rooms at our request. The hotel look like a cruise ship and the interior also ditto. Delux rooms are very large compared to Cabin room which do not have Bathtub or cubicle. Bath Towels seems to be very old and toilet was not clean. But the room was specious and clean . Swimming pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi and the gym are excellent and well maintained. I think I had the best massage from this hotel . Breakfast is okay but not excellent. The Omlet station is very good. You may get cheap food at road side but its better you avoid that. Near to Batam Ferry Terminal a Carryfour is there and in that building you will get very good, cheap and quality food till 10.00pm. Do not trust taxi, other travel services at night time. Better take 7 seater from the hotel , Mr.Dharmiji , who is one of the driver is expert for “all your needs”. There is disco at level 1 starts at 11.00pm but not vey catching. On weekends hotel is packed mostly with families. Batam and Nagoya are small places and nothing explore or nothing to do.

Overall nice stay at Pacafic Palace Hotel ..

Quite amazing this unique ship building hotel with 4 star rating.
The lobby is so huge spectacular. The room is very clean, bed room comfortable, tv is excellent, only the the one type at Cabin room need more larger, but that's still actually O.K. .
All staffs are excellent, caring and courteous. I recommend this hotel to all my colleagues and my family. And I will return again for more and more whenever I must visit Batam island.

Dear valuable Guest,
Thank you for taking your time to provide us your feed back.
I certainly regret to know that tv at one of our cabin room (our standard room) not met
your expectation. I would like to apologize for this inconvenience during your stay on behalf of
our company.
We have few cabin rooms left equipped with a small tv which is still in the process of a gradual replacement. This year we will look on it again and finding the right time to re arrange this replacement .

I am so glad to hear that your overall experience makes you happy to visit us again in the future. And thank you so much for recommending us to your colleagues.

Once again, thank you and we are looking forward to welcoming you again at our hotel in near future.

Warm regard

Management
