“Colonial building and old orgel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

The building has a unique exterior of dome structure, but the interior is stunning. It is the house of probably one of the oldest orgel and the most beautiful one in Indonesia. The dome structure also refelcted in the ceiling of the interior.

Beware of the church gardener/housekeeper who charges tourist for Rp 10.000,- per person.

“Another heritage building...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

I love Semarang with all its beauty and

I managed to visit Gereja Blenduk which is strategically located in the old city..

The Immanuel Protestant Church of Western Indonesia, that is its officia name...but it's also famously known as Gereja Blendug thanks to its unique architecture, particularly the dome..

The oldest church in Semarang, Gereja Blendug is part of the many historical buidings in this capital city of Central Java...

Inside it's sooo beautiful as well...with its angelic, silver orgel, antique rattan chairs, heavily adorned stairs...and the dome of course...

Well.,.another beautiful place to see in Semarang...

“nice church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Nice church, European style, as it is build by the Dutch. Protestant church.
If U like to visit churches, go to St. Joseph's (St, Yusup) on Jl. Ronggowarsito (standing in front gereja Belnduk, with your back towards it, turn left and take 4th road on the left. St. Joseph is on right side of Jl. Ronggowarsito. On the left side is a former Dutch orphanage with a nice church also. Still inhabited by nuns and open for visitors.

“Old Church”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

The main attraction of the church being its large brown dome clearly visible from most parts i.e. if you are slightly on higher ground and next, its beautiful tainted glass windows.
It is also the oldest church in the city dating back to the 18th Century during the Dutch era.

Be informed that opening hours are 8,00 am to 4.00 pm.
