“You get what you pay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights..Amaris hotel with small, standard and clean room is a good choice if you are on a tight budget..the hotel also provide water dispenser which i think it's a very good if we are get thirsty so we can easily get free cold water..
This hotel is located in same building with Gramedia bookstore, dunkin donuts and near with 2 mall (Paragon mall and DP mall) and you can walk to it..so it's very brilliant location for everyone who stay and demand one package of all (hotel and entertainment)..
The breakfast at Amaris hotel was simple but worthy and the taste is not bad.. love the breakfast so much..
But be careful if you stay there at Saturday, because at Sunday, the Pemuda road is closed for car free day until 9 am..you can bring your car out of Pemuda road but you can't bring in back to the hotel until car free day is over

Stayed here for 3 days 2 nights. The Amaris Hotel Semarang is in the same building with Gramedia Bookstore and Dunkin Doughnut. The hotel is located in prime location of the city, just a few minutes walk from the most famous landmark of Semarang, Lawang Sewu. Located between 2 shopping malls, DP mall and I forgot the name of the other mall. Both approximately 50-100 meters from the hotel.

The lobby is very small and so is the room. The room was small, but well equipped with standart stuff you need, LCD TV, safe deposit box, writing table and clothes hangers. The bed was queen size, fit two adults and comfortable enough. Too bad they don't provide extra pillow. They will charge you if you request extra pillow. They provide you with two bottles of mineral waters in the room. In addition to that, they also provide mineral water dispensers in every floor.

The buffet breakfast was just okay. Egg station was available along with standart breakfast food in most (or maybe all) hotels in Indonesia; steam rice and fried rice. They change the variety of fried rice ther served daily though. There were several other menu available. They should put more attention on the display of breakfast, a bit messy. The quality and taste was just standart. Not bad though.

Overall, the hotel was perfect for those who only need bed, shower and breakfast. The hotel doesn't have facilities such as swimming pool, gym, massage and spa or entertainment. If you spend most of your time outside, then you should coose this hotel.

no complaint for this hotel for now. everything is standard, small room but clean, minimum breakfast menu, the internet connection not too fast. This hotel is in 1 building with dunkin donuts and gramedia book stores.

We stayed here for two days last weekend (December 11-12, 2011). At first we were planning to stay at Novotel Semarang, but my friend suggested us to try this new hotel. Its location is only around 20 meters across Novotel, at Jalan Pemuda, a very strategic location. There is a Paragon Mall in walking distance. The best mall in Semarang, some locals said. It has starbucks and movie theater. So, it works for me to stay out late. The hotel is side by side to Gramedia bookstore. It has a very small lobby. The room is small, compact and simple. Okay for me. Clean bathroom. Weird sliding door and sink! Buffet breakfast but the taste was just so-so. I had problem with their tea, there were oils on the surface of the pot. yuck! But the waiters there were prompt to my complaint. To the left, around 200m is Lawang Sewu and to the right over the Paragon Mall around 700m is the China Town. At the back of the hotel is a street famous for oleh-oleh (gifts or local food to bring back home). So, I must say, it has a great location.

Room Tip: On the fifth floor, room 301, 302, 303 have the shortest distance to breakfast room but a bit far fr...

Stayed there last weekend . Ive got good deal. Although i wud have choosen Quest Hotel with 38.000IDR different, better room. It was minimalist hotel , mini hotel and mini room. Room is small but not mini, LCD TV , clean bathroom but the sink is in the bedroom next to the TV eh?! odd looks...Breakfast was ok , not much choices..enough to fill the tummy. Location just perfect in the main busy road and just feew blocks to Paragon Mall and Lawang Sewu and Tugu Muda the landmark of Semarang... Might be back if i do shopping trip lol... just because of the location ..

Their concept is bed and breakfast. Prime location at Jalan Pemuda. Easy to get public transport like taxi, ojek, bus, even 'becak'. Just a few steps from mall where you can find many coffee shops and restaurants. Love this place and definitely will stay again whenever I visit Semarang.
