“nice, clean and close to amusement park.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

we booked 2 rooms for 2 nights (18 - 20 August 2012) in Dedaunan Guest House. We enjoyed this hotel so much. The hotel is very comfortable. Staff are nice. Rooms are clean and big. Bathrooms also clean. They provide breakfast and also afternoon tea every day. We will stay in this hotel again if we come to Malang/Batu. This hotel is very suitable for family with children. Close to amusement park, e.g : Batu Secret Zoo, BNS, Eco Green Park, Jatim Park 1-2, etc.

fresh air, green, and peaceful place to stay... smells like my home town :) cheap n clean.. love it!
this place located near to Batu.. a must visit place while you traveling in Malang.
the service was fine, helpful and friendly. The room quite clean, old interior, especially the tv. Bathroom was ok, except the fact that the shower should be fixed a little bit.. the running water was not stable - sometimes it gets too hot all of the sudden. On the whole, it was a nice play to stay in.

Room Tip: try sirih 1 & 2 ... and experience gardening right in front of your room ;)

We stayed at this guest house with young children. The kids liked the place. They can walk and jump around the garden between trees, flowers and the crops (lettuce!), there is a swing at the end of the restaurant, a fish pond, a common room where you can play traditional small music instruments or play 'dakon', othello/reversi, dart, or just read a book on the rocking chair or day bed. There is also a gallery selling batik, ethnic accessories, etc. with inexpensive prices.

Our room was Kemangi, located just at the parking area. At the weekend a couple of big cars parked just in front of our cottage blocking our way out. Next time we would like to choose Sirih Room located at the garden area and with Javanese ethnic design.

The location is not so far from recreation parks such as Jawa Timur Parks 1 and 2, and Batu Night Spectacular (BNS). The down side is, finding transportation in Batu is not so easy. You will have to either rent a car (with or without driver) or call a taxi. And there is actually no taxi in Batu, all taxis come from Malang so it takes a while (could be an hour) before they arrive.

The staff were nice and friendly, willing to take an extra mile to help us. We really had a great time there and would love to come back. When we were staying a swimming pool is being built. This will be an additional plus side.

Room Tip: Sirih Room is a Java-ethnic designed cottage located at the garden. Beautiful design, beautiful view...

Got the Kecubung room at IDR 275,000, basic non A/C room, very spacious, big bed and free wifi. Room was clean with no weird smell, furniture a little dated but no big deal. Food at the restaurant was okay, very reasonably priced, though waiting time is a little long. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, tried to make us feel like home at all times. Booked airport transfer and Mt Bromo tour through hotel and the driver was very professional and experienced, chauffeured us around in a comfortable Suzuki 6-seater MPV. Recommended for those who are looking for a nice, cozy, yet cheap stay.

Room Tip: Pay only a little more for a better room with A/C. Kecubung room is right beside the reception and c...
