If you're looking for a no-frills, no-fuss, simple & affordable place to stay, here's it.
As with the other reviewers below, I had a great experience with Chez Bon - crew were really hospitable, friendly & helpful (English was sufficient to communicate too) & the place is new, clean & well-managed.
Rooms come in 3 sizes over 2 floors - small (2 beds), medium (4 beds) & large (16 beds) - so even if one's travelling alone or with a partner, the small room will afford a good measure of privacy while being able to interact with others at the common areas. Each bed has its own reading light & power socket.
Toilets were clean though may be a bit limited if the hostel is running at high occupancy. Shower heads may be a little low for those above 1.8m.
Breakfast was decent - eggs & bread (numerous spreads available) with tea & coffee.
WiFi was fast and consistent.
Location was in the heritage area of Bandung, so it was a little far from the shopping areas (a mall in Jalan Brage was under renovation when I visited). But for me, this was no issue as it was near to the train station (10-15 minutes walk) and Jalan Asia Afrika (where I had a morning walking tour with Bandung Trails).
So for about Rp120,000 a night, it's very much worth it, nothing to complain.
