Place is pretty gorgeous. ;) Spent 3 nights here. If you're anything like me- don't want a cheap, crappy or boring expensive room and look for an affordable place with personality, you're going to love this place.

Pool is small but is so pretty(u prolly wont spend too much time here anw its freezing!). Wi-fi here sucks, so its pretty good for typical singaporeans like myself who would be forced to take detox from going online every 10mins. Hotel is beautiful, but if ure those petty type, it might not be for u. There's something wrong with the water taps and the hot water is barely warm. I don't mind too much so i did not bother making noise abt it. Its a real value for money hotel cos the staff are all pretty awesome and the breakfast spread is alot more than I expected with lots of live cooking. Besides having egg station, they also have Bakso station, mee ayam station, waffle and some others. They left a cake for us too which we greatly appreciated.
In all, had a great stay. =)

P.s Hotel is walking distance from factory outlets if thats your thing to do(not mine). If you wana shop at a local shopping street walk over to Jalan Trunojoyo(ok if ure a princess take the cab,its a 15 min walk on a quiet road). Cute clothes but for guys mostly.. Realised that most of the stores carry more clothes for guys.

Loved the beautiful decor of the rooms.A five minute walk to the excellent Factory Outlets of Jl.Riau.Even had ready ironing facilities in the room. Downsides are: 1)convenience stores are scarce and you need to walk out for food.
2) breakfast are more of local food and is the same everyday..perhaps needs more continental choices I.e. scrambled eggs, salad, turkey ham etcetera.
3) wifi is only available at the lobby and pool.connection always unstable. In the room they only provide you with LAN cable.Seriously? Who on earth uses cables anymore these days.
4) Never order the spa treatments.Expensive and just not worth it.The first time I got a masseuse who was so skinny I can't feel a thing. The second person I got only attended to me for 45 minutes instead of 1 hr.

Nevertheless if points 1-4 don't bother you Amaroosa would be a great stay for those looking for a shopping spree or simply sleeping in. Another plus point I forgot to add is the excellent satellite TV it has.Kids love the place too. Would definitely come again.

it was my first trip to bandung and I have booked the amaroosa hotel thru online deal. Before purchasing the room, I always have the habit to check review in tripadvisor. there are both pros and cons from different customer, however, I decide to take the risk. it was a 4 nights stay.

Positive feedback:-
-the room was very spacious (526 & 527)
-the front desk staff was very friendly
-check in was smooth probably because we went on a weekdays
-the ambience is very peaceful
-the room is clean and the design is very classic
-had a good experience with the ever concern staff at the breakfast area
-aircon though is a portable one, felt much better than how other wld describe. personally, it doesnt affect me with the idea that the balcony window is slightly open to give way to the aircon tube coz if you dont open the curtain wide enough (which we hardly do) you wont even notice it
-great recommendation from front desk about d'palm restaurant, just behind amaroosa. we end up going twice there.

Negative:-
-no wifi in the room [note: do bring yr laptop if you want to use the inroom internet coz they have the cable but not wifi] we end up having to spend a few minutes in the lobby area just to had internet connection
-breakfast was kind of limited bt still find.
-the hot water took a little to long to warm up then we ended having cold shower every day bt doesnt really matter to much though :)

Plus point:-
-we were given cakes and thank you letter by the hotel for our stay, kind of make us felt special
-one of the customer service manager [cant remember the name bt he is the guy from germany] came to knowledge us on our check out, took a time to talk to us and even help to load our bags in the taxi

it was indeed a great time staying in the hotel and the 4 nights are well taken care of. we will sure do a comeback when we return to bandung :)

We stayed here for two nights by accident as their sister hotel grand serela fumbled with our booking.having to accommodate us in the last minute would be commendable.with room208 we were given two extra beds and was spacious enough for 4 of us. The only down side was their plumbing in the toilet as the whole toilet would get wet in during each use. We did not complaint as we knew nothing could be done and we were too tired to have to change room. The air conditioning was working completely and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was a great spread with their local dishes and there was even a jamu counter. There was small pool more for children and a spa which only accomodate spa services in the guests rooms. The best selling point was perhaps their hospitality.in fact most indonesians are polite.one of us got sick from food poisoning (not from the hotel food)and the hotel arranged for the transport to and from the hospital free of charge and it seemed that everybody was genuinely concerned and accomodating. I would recommend this hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Our family of 6 adults had confirmed booking for 3 rooms and airport-hotel transfers with Amaroossa Hotel. We arrived on 21 March 2013 and after immigration and collecting our luggages, we went out about 10 a.m. to look for an Amaroossa Hotel representative. None could be seen. Nevertheless we waited. After about 15 minutes, we saw a rep from Hilton Hotel and requested his help to call Amaroossa Hotel. We were told that the transport was on the way. After another ONE HOUR, no transport came. I called Amaroossa and again was told that the transport was on the way. At 11.30 a.m. we saw two men in Kagum hotels uniforms. We approached them and asked for their assistance. They called Amaroossa hotel on our behalf and again told that the transport was on the way. But we told them that we had been waiting for 1 hour and 30 mins. By 12 noon, these 2 kind Kagum hotels drivers decided to send us to Amaroossa Hotel. We are indeed grateful to Mr Ade and Mr Andy Irwan. Our anger was cooled by their kind actions.

On arrival at Amaroossa, the Guest Relations Officer, Mr Ilya, met us and apologised for our bad experience. His sincere apology and very friendly demeanour doused whatever anger that remained in our hearts. He took our crticisms with a smiling, humble and apologetic manner.
All of us were impressed by his professional guest relations behaviour.

On the first night, the air-con in one of our rooms was not functioning well. A technician was sent and he tried to fix the problem by pumping gas into the condenser. After less than an hour, the room was warm again. The same technician came and wanted to pump more gas.
We refused and requested for a fan instead. No fan was available, but they sent a portable air-con. It was working well but also very noisy. The next morning we requested for a change of room. By the time we came back to the hotel in the evening, Mr Ilya met us and assured us that the air-con was replaced by a brand new one, the installation of which he personally witnessed.
Again Mr Ilya came to the rescue and we were very grateful for that.

After 4 days, we checked out of the hotel. While waiting for the transfer to the airport, we were told that only 1 vehicle was available for 4 of us, and we needed to take a taxi and pay on our own. We were again annoyed not because we had to pay but the hotel could not keep their promise. Finally we managed to get the free transfer. Although the staff apologised, these hassles were unnecessary and affected our expectations of an enjoyable and pleasang stay in Bandung.

Room Tip: Higher floor and not facing the main road.

I was tempted to rate the hotel Average given the air-conditioning fiasco when we stayed in March 2013, however, the staff went above and beyond the circumstances and should be praised.

On arrival, we were informed that the central air-conditioning for the entire hotel had broken down - the lobby, restaurant, rooms, hallways etc. were humid and hot. There was an ongoing scramble to install make-shift split units and/or portable air-con units in the rooms - many of which were non-efficient at cooling the rooms at all - we required a change of room mid-evening as our first room's unit went on for a few minutes and then turned off blowing room temp. air. As other reviewers had mentioned, the makeshift air-con units and the tubing etc. had to have an outlet - meaning the windows/balcony doors had to be permanently partially opened - allowing for warm air and noise in the room. I can only hope that this is not permanent.

Staff were very accommodating and did very well with a situation which was beyond their control.

The hotel itself is lovely - large rooms and bathrooms - with good amenities. A small pool - for dipping and cooling off rather than swimming. Buffet breakfasts had a good spread - with different stations for a variety of local dishes.

Location - walkable to factory outlets (10 min walk away). But traffic is horrible in Bandung at anytime of the day...

I would not hesitate to return to this hotel once the air conditioning fiasco has been resolved.

This is our 2nd experience with Kagum hotels. The first one was at Grand Seriti few years back (it was an okay experience) and we thought we'd give it another chance. We booked through CIMB Niaga Clicks since they're having a promotional rate with Kagum hotel chains.

We arrived around 3 pm and immediately greeted with strange smell at the lobby. The room wasn't ready (they said they needed to check the room one more time to ensure everything works properly). After waiting for a few minutes in a lobby (accompanied by flies, see my pic), the receptionist escorted us to our room.
On our way to our room, the receptionist casually told us that the central air conditioning system wasn't working and every room got a split AC installed instead.

The room itself is a bit dark but spacious. I was surprised by the AC installed (see my pic). The AC indoor & outdoor unit connection was through the window so the window couldn't be properly shut. We could hear the street noise all day & night long.
Found dirty towels left inside the shower and immediately called the hotel staff to clean it up. And while we're trying hard to get some nap time, some noise came from the bath room. Apparently the lighting behind the mirror had fallen apart. We called the hotel staff again to repair it. Their solution was to place few duck tapes to hide the lights *sigh*. And of course after few hours, the whole thing fell apart again (see my pic).
Water was never hot, only somewhat warm. Definitely not warm enough for Bandung. Tried calling the hotel staff to fix it, only to receive promises that they will reset the water heater. Nothing changed.
Parking was also challenging due to limited space, they provided free valet though.
After not so much sleep throughout the night, we were expecting good breakfast. Plenty of variety but quality is mediocre. Most food were served cold & dry and didn't taste alright.
Overall, disappointing experience. Definitely will not return and will not give Kagum hotels another try.

Room Tip: Not sure if any, but ask for room far from street with proper AC
