“Spot in middle of main street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Stayed in mansion, which is a large building with 4 seperate rentals. Shared pool for the 4 units only, so relatively private. One is right next to pool so that would be the choice. Accomodation is very good, good bathroom and everything working properly. Quiet place to stay. Breakfast is huge if you want something the american breakfast. Got driver to pick up from airport which makes travel a bit safer. Great place to stay.

Room Tip: If staying at mansion only one downstairs room is next to pool.

My spouse and I stayed in one of the rooms at Danu Gadang (on the website it's called Danu mansion if I'm not mistaken). There are only 4 rooms in one compound and it has its own private pool. The room was lovely and it had all the necessary amenities.

What impressed me the most was how dedicated the staff were in their commitment to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms. It got cleaned twice a day just as promised, and they were so willing to accommodate our request. I asked for an inflated bed to be used on the pool to one of the gardeners and fifteen minutes later he came back with it! We also didn't have shower curtain installed in the shower/tub and I asked for it, and the guys who made our rooms attended to it right away.

Because I booked the room a week before, we received a complimentary one hour massage for two and a Galungan Rijstafel to sample at their Ubud Homemade Resto.

Breakfasts and afternoon tea were either enjoyed in the restaurant or delivered to the room.

The hotel's location was ideal for us as it is right in the downtown area and we could go to the shops and the restaurants, all within walking distance.

They provided bicycles for free to be used during the stay but we didn't have the chance to try it.

I reserved the room directly to the hotel's reservation email address and it took a lot of initiative on my part to arrange deposits and payments. Perhaps next time I would book through the sites here. However this was resolved days before we checked in.

Hotel next door was doing major renovations from 8 am until 5 pm still, but it didn't bother us as much. When we asked the staff, they were more than happy to answer our questions and I loved the fact that they actually liked talking to us.

I would definitely return and stay longer just to enjoy the room and it's facilities.

I cannot say enough good things about the Kajane Mua in Ubud. The experience started with the driver who picked us up from the airport. He was very informative and friendly. We used the car service later in the week for a personal trip through several of the temples and the rice terraces. We stayed in a Mansion room. While not perfect, it was close. The restaurant was really good. In the end it comes down to the staff. They were first rate. If I'm ever in Ubud again, I'll return to the Kajane.

We stayed 3 nights and wished it were more! We stayed during the Galungan festive period and the hotel offered an offering making class with their staff which was very interesting and there was a parade with barong and musical instruments throughout the resort. A wonderful cultural experience.
Staff and the service was very good. I know there were other people staying in the resort but we felt like we had the place to ourselves at times. Very secluded and a high level of detail to the rooms and surroundings. Couldn't fault anything.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 101 which was right outside the pool. It was close to everything we needed.

Centrally located, great stay with friendly and attentive staff.Beautiful rooms and villas. However, their free wifi could be improved with better surfing speeds. They should consider railing on stairs to help ascend/descend.Highest is fourth floor.Plenty of good shops, spas and eateries within 1.5km.Easy walking distance.

We only planned one night in Ubud so booked the Kajane in advance. Very please we did so as it was exquisite. The service was faultless and the facilities excellent.
When the taxi dropped us off we really had no idea what to expect. Ubud looked nicer than Jimberan (our base in Bali) but staying at a hotel on a busy road filled us with some trepidation. No need as the hotel extends back far from the traffic and is an oasis of tranquillity.

The room was lovely, the pool perfect for our one night stay and the restaurant was actually very good and very well priced.

For those looking for things to do in Ubud then obvious contenders are the Monkey Forest (a lot better than one might think) and a walk to Suri Organic for an excellent (and amazing value) lunch past lots of paddy fields. We went to a traditional dance in the temple which was actually very charming.

Some reviewers have already mentioned the building work next door. Ubud is a town that is growing and there is some development taking place. Did it spoil our visit? Not at all.
