“Great location, average hotel; however good value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Th elocation is great if you like to hang out in Ubud. You leave the hotel and you're on the MOnkey Forest road. The rooms a very simple, I liked teh open air shower, which is sort fo common for Bali.

chose this hotel purely for position expecting very basic currently major construction going on between lobby and rooms at back
dimly lit or lack of lighting makes this a hazard in walking to room at night under work area noise not a real issue however no privacy with outdoor bathroom with workers above is
rooms are very old and basic as is furniture around pool area be aware fogging is carried out once a week however no notification of this and twice we were caught out view from room and pool very pleasing however building going on behind wall would be unfortunate if this blocks future view

Room Tip: suggest inspect room on arrival to make sure it suits

We booked a 6 day package with our travel agent and were given Ubud Village Hotel as our accommodation. We are very pleased with the Hotel, great staff who are very friendly and accommodating only too happy to make your stay a pleasant one. Our room was great, very spacious and at the rear of the hotel overlooking the pool with lovely views, private, relaxing and very very clean.. The outdoor bathroom was great too, we loved it. The restaurant is awesome with friendly staff, great food, prices and surroundings. There was some renovations going on during our stay but nothing to interfere with the peace and relaxation that this hotel offers. I am sure when renovations are complete this hotel will certainly rank high. Its not 5 star but all in all a great place with a warm atmoshpere and well positioned and within walking distance to everything Ubud has to offer. Would we stay here again? Absolutely and hopefully very soon, Loved it, its our kind of place.

One of the best holiday experiences our family has had was due this brilliant hotel and it's wonderful staff. Firstly, it is positioned right in the middle of everything and walking distance(with our 6 year old) to Monkey Forest, the markets, restaurants, massage places and shops. Our room had a beautiful view of the rice paddies and forest and a roofless shower under a Balinese moon is one for the bucket list! In general, our room was comfortable and clean. We had the Indonesian and American breakfasts, which were tasty and filling and the complimentary afternoon tea was definitely worth hovering around for. The staff of this hotel are some of the most warm and wonderful people, who are more than willing to go the extra mile. When I contracted the dreaded Bali belly staff were so helpful and even offered to mind our son while my husband went to to chemist. We will be back again and again - thank you!

If you are looking for an excellent location on Monkey Forest Road, this is a great hotel. However, the hotel seems old and tired. Most of the rooms look into a gorge and the hillside on the other side of the gorge. The rooms seem damp and dank. Due to it's close proximity to the gorge, there can be a mosquito problem in the evening. Nice pool and wonderful staff. However, I would not stay at this particular hotel again since there are so many others in the same price range along Monkey Forest Road that I like more.

We are a young couple and stayed here after reading reviews on this hotel. We got a great rate by not booking and walking in off the street.
The pool was the selling point for us (nice & big overlooking the 'jungle' at the back behind the hotel) , though the rooms were nice enough too.
They are undergoing some construction at the moment but down the back of the hotel where we stayed (overlooking the pool) you could not hear it.
The location is great and walking around the streets is a must.
When we come back to Ubud I would definitely consider staying here again - great value for money.

we stayed here 3 nights in october. The hotel is in a lovely location right in the middle of the ubud's main street. A stone's throw away from great cafe's and massage places. Our room was a deluxe and was located across from the pool. Highly recommend these you open the outside wooden door and look straight out to the pool. We saw a superior room and it wasn't as nice they seemed to be located up stairs. Our room was simple but comfortable, perhaps the air con could have worked a little better. The bathrooms were starting to show signs of age. would stay again.
