“More than we expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Last September my husband, myself and our 15 year old daughter stayed at Tegal Sari for a week and we could not have chosen a better place. We were bang in the ricefields, but within walking distance of the centre, and in the evenings complimentary transport was provided to the restaurants in Ubud. We stayed in the top floor of Villa Sesapi which was luxurious, very spacious and comfortable. Having a view over the ricefields from the bathroom was original - one wall was a glass pane! We also had a lovely view from the bedroom. The grounds were very well groomed and flowers abounded. The swimming pool area was lovely and the massages given in a private pavillion by the pool were so relaxing. Above all, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We did 2 tours with the hotel which we highly recommend : The climb up Mount Batur at night to see sunrise, and the morning visit to an artist's home with a trek through the ricefields. On both occassions members of the staff were our guides and they were excellent. We also enjoyed the meals we had at the hotel restaurant and they were of very good value. Tegal Sari delivered more than 100% and we would definitely stay there again if ever we return to Bali .

We arrived about half hour late at Denpasar airport as the plane wasn't granted permit to land. By the time we cleared customs, it was already past 10pm. The driver from Tegal Sari was waiting and although past his regular working hours, he was still very polite and amicable.

I had emailed the hotel earlier to ask that the 2 twin beds be combined into one before our arrival and that was nicely done, and comfortably slept 4.

It was lovely sitting at the balcony overlooking the padi field. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Thumbs up!!! We were reluctant to leave after 4 nights.

this is the most fantastic hotel i have ever stayed in. the staff are attentive to all your needs and are genuinely friendly. you can arrange any tour through the reception staff. you can hire a driver and large airconditioned vehicle at a very good hourly rate. the facilities are very good and are well maintained. the scenery from the rooms is of a huge rice paddy with forest background . each room is carefully screened from the next with shrubs and trees. you can order quality meals to your room at an great price or eat at any of the nearby good quality restaurants . i will be back as it is so relaxing.

Room Tip: book early as this is necessary if you want a room

We stayed at Tegal Sari in a Super Delux room for three nights in November. The staff were fantastic from the start and couldn't be more helpfull. Only a three minute walk to Monkey Forest and 5 minutes on to central Ubud.
I was very impressed with the free transportainon into central ubud 24 hours a day, this came in very usefull especially when it rained. We had one afternoon relaxing at the pool and both had an hours massage which cost £6 each, bargain!!! We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning, the food was good but they only seemed to be able to cook one breakfast at a time which meant you ate one after the other!
I would recommend this hotel to couples, families, friends and solo's.

Awesome little hide away. Staying in the villa with swimming pool. Kids have upstairs room... I was a bit worried when we first walked in but it is worth waiting for.... We are a family of 5. Kids ages: 19, 15 and 13. Perfect setup for us..... Wish we could stay longer...

We spent two nights at Tegal Sari and that wasn't enough! It's a hotel with great services and great view!

There were always nice and friendly smile from the staffs and from the guests too! It seems that everyone enjoy their stay at Tegal sari.

Well, beware of the mosquitoes, remember to switch on the mosquitoes repellent kits provided by the hotel!

I have booked 2 super deluxe rooms months before. considering few review about booking problem on the review, i made a call to the hotel one week before the day. i faced the problem when i only got 1 super deluxe room. i didn't get the other one because of the booking system was corrupted. the staff gave me a prompt response. in the afternoon, they called back and inform me that i got the free upgrade room (from super deluxe to villa sesapi).

I am so happy since villa sesapi is one of the favorite villa. The villa is huge. There is a spacious room with the comfortable bed, the bathroom with the standing shower and bath tub, spacious living room and kitchen, and most important is gorgeous private pool. all in modern and luxurious design. i stayed with my wife, so it's like our second honeymoon.

The other family stayed at super deluxe room. they are also very happy with the room. the room is spacious with sofa and spacious bathroom. the room has a rice field view. it was harvest time. we could enjoy the farmers did they job. so precious moment.

staff was also great and helpful. they helped us when my sister in law got slipped and her feet had injured.

Food and room service are great value. even the price of the laundry service is unbelievable (extremely cheap).

The location is also great. only few minutes from monkey forest. they also provide free shuttle to center of Ubud. another great added value service.

Everything is great and memorable. definitely will come back again. this hotel is worth the number 1 rating (in term of value). Best way to enjoy the nature of Ubud.

Room Tip: don't forget to book months before and check the booking one week before. this hotel is extremel...
