We are guests at Chedi now (and loving it) and are curious about how much to tip our terrific butler when we check out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As for our stay -- it has been a dream come true. All the hype was true. So much so.

From the minute we arrived we felt like royalty and I can honestly say, I have never stayed anywhere in the world where I have been better looked after. The grounds were so expansive that you rarely ran into anyone else apart from when visiting the many areas set up for relaxing or dining in. The whole time we were there we kept thinking that at some point we were bound to hear that some famous movie star or Rock God was also staying there.....such was the level of opulence.
Others have raved quite rightly about the butler service, the service in general and the extraordinary and exquisitely prepared food, so I wont repeat it all again, instead I will simply say.....believe every word and give yourself a totally memorable and romantic experience and visit the Chedi Club as soon as you possibly can :)

The Chedi club is the most amazing place to relax. The villa accommodation has all the comforts of home and your butler takes care of your every whim in an unobtrusive manner. The staff are friendly, competent and helpful. The main pool area has amazing views of the distant mountains and the local wildlife is extraordinary. You can take your complimentary afternoon tea and early evening cocktails in various settings and the quality of all meals is excellent. We really enjoyed the Kecak Dance evening and we felt the experience was very authentic. The courtesy transport to and from the airport was a treat and our driver was so patient after our flight had been delayed for 3 hours. The unique setting of this small resort is truly magical. The general manager and guest relations department deserve a special mention as they took a personal interest in ensuring you had a wonderful stay. The office staff arranged onward flights for us in advance and this proved to be a godsend as it is difficult to book on-line domestic flights in Indonesia.
Thank you for a wonderful experience - world class and exceeded our expectations

We stayed 3 nights from the 8/1/2013 and after 27 Visits to Bali, this is the best hotel we have stayed. Thank you to Simon and his wonderful staff who welcomed us and looked after us. Our butler Yuni is the most wonderful person you would want to look after you. Nothing was too much for her. Every night Yuni would check on us to make sure everything was ok. The suite is just beautiful, the pool and the view is breathtaking, the restaurants food, service and location is excellent. The grounds are the most beautifully kept that I have seen. The paddy field walk is fantastic and I thank Yuni for taking me on that. Afternoon tea was delicious, the free mini bar came in handy as did the home made whiskey and vodka. We would definitely stay again and definitely recommend you to stay at this lovely resort. Thank you again to Simon and all his wonderful staff.

Room Tip: The Suite was plentiful enough for us.

We stayed at The Chedi Club for the last 4 days of our wonderful Bali honeymoon. I had read all the reviews on trip advisor prior to arriving and boy, I was not disappointed. The hotel is set amongst rice paddies and has such a tranquil feel. We had a Spa Villa and included in this are daily 90 min spa treatments, it was the ultimate in pampering for my husband and I. The Villa is fantastic, so so spacious and so immaculately kept. Our Butler Bawa was a star. He had such great attention to detail and was always one step ahead of us. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Chedi, everyone is so welcoming and we can't wait to come back. Believe all the reviews, this hotel is definitely #1!

My partner and I went to The Chedi club for 3 days and then to another 5 Star hotel in Uluwatu for 3 days. I must say the experience at the Chedi Club is beyond outstanding. It definitely competes at the level of an Aman resort, but at a price point that is much lower. Our butler Mati was amazing. She was courteous and always thought ahead anticipating our every need. She arranged for private drivers and tours that were all excellent. She met us immediately upon our return to the resort. I just can't say enough about her professionalism and thoughtfulness. The pool villa that we stayed at was amazing with lots of authentic touches and all of the luxury conveniences you would ever want.

As for the grounds, they are stunning and extremely well maintained. I couldn't believe how all the staff knew your name and greeted you wherever they saw you. It is all of the small things that make you really feel that this place is special. From the dinner in the dining room to the in Villa dining experience everything beat our expectations. The crispy duck special dinner was nice as this is a Balinese specialty. For us the dinners we had on the other night were actually even better. We went to the Four Seasons in Ubud for dinner one night and were very disappointed by the quality of food there and wish we would have stayed at the Chedi for dinner.

This place has only 20 villas so it never seems busy and you rarely see people other than at dinner. We were there just after the harvest of the rice which at first I thought was a major let down since all of the pictures were with the lush green rice paddies, but actually enjoyed the amazing reflections of the resort and surroundings from the standing water in the rice paddies. Just a brilliantly designed and authentic property. We'll be back for sure!

Tip: Request Pool Villa #9 It is right on the edge of the rice field and has unobstructed views of the fields and restaurant. It also points away so the pool is open in the back which is quite nice.

Room Tip: Select Pool Villa #9. It has the best location in the resort with private views of the rice fields.

Stayed at The Chedi Club in a pool villa for our 30th anniversary. A really beautiful place in the middle of rice paddies. Perks include a butler whoever you need him, free afternoon tea, free mini bar & tea/coffee making facilities, free laundry and a lot of perks on the romance package we booked. Last night had dinner in the middle of the rice paddies for our anniversary, a very special treat. Food is excellent, with last night being Michelin level quality from Dean Nor a wonderful chef from Singapore. The only slight negative is that the spa charge Mandiri level prices, but their staff are competent but not excellent as one expects for such prices. Best to get the free shuttle to Ubud and get a spa treatment there for 10% of the price (we used one called Padma Hastaa Spa off a small side lane off Monkey Forest Road; basic but excellent.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking your time to review our property. We are glad to learn that your stay has been enjoyable, and I would like to use this opportunity to wish you a happy belated 30th anniversary. I will definitely pass your gracious comment to Dean, our chef.

Regarding the prices of the treatments in our spa compared to some spas in Ubud Center, I agree that our prices are definitely higher. This is due to the products which we are using. We only use high quality, high end, organic products, some of them have to be imported from Europe. Apart from these we use local organic massage oils and essential oils as well which are of equally high quality.

Regarding the treatments itself, i have passed on your comment to our Spa team and will make sure to intensify our trainings to make sure they are up to our guests expecations.

I thank you sincerely for bringing this up, so we can move forward and improve our service. I do hope that I will be able to welcome you again to The Chedi Club Ubud in the near future.

Kind regards,

Simon and the management team
