Description: Our non smoking restaurant serves modern, contemporary European cuisine using local, seasonal ingredients. Our chefs share a passion for crafting contemporary European cuisine from quality local ingredients. This concept is already popular in the west, but still new to Indonesia where most chefs rely on expensive imported ingredients. We started working together in Jakarta over five years ago and gradually came to see that it just didn't make sense to cook with imported ingredients when we were surrounded by Indonesia's bounty. We think of ourselves as the catalysts between local producers and discriminating diners. Our ingredient-driven menu celebrates the farmers, fisherman and artisans we've met along our journey. By developing lasting relationships with local producers, we ensure you the freshest of chemical-free seasonal produce and ethically fed meat animals. And by supporting local farmers and artisans, Locavore is an authentic member of its community. During lunch service walk-ins are possible but during dinner service a reservation is strongly recommended. Reservations can be made via our website and our FB page.

“Fantastic use of local produce”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

It's a low key place. Nothing fancy. Very clean lines in terms of decor and its a reflection of the kind of the food you get there where simplicity in the dishes is key. The only slight draw back is that the portions could be smaller as we found it heavy going even though it was only a 6 course menu.

“I 'll be back...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Cosy and feel good athmosphere, the kitchen team is obviously having fun under the wings of talented Chefs. Just one little disappointment, the wine list needs to thicken to match the gatronomic delights. Loved the Hamachi vanilla infused appetizer. Thank you for a great dinner.

“Absolutely Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

From the time we walked in until we had finished our superb meal , we were ensconced in brilliant service and food. My partner was an experienced French chef and he rated it 10/10. The flavours of each course literally exploded in your mouth and took you to a gastronomical ecstasy !!
I suggest for those who have negatively reviewed this restaurant, to continue to scoff on McDonald burgers and chips as you obviously missed the whole point of an exceptional culinary experience. We will make sure we return at least twice more before we leave at the end of the week. You must book ahead as this amazing new secret has already started to take root as the finest dining in Ubud.

“Ubud, Bali: beautiful and delicious non fussy romantic dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Unique, uncomplicated and tasty dishes in a lovely, friendly setting. After several days walking around Bali, eating well, but either in simple organic cafes or oily warungs (yummy though they may be) we felt so cared for and nourished at Locavore. We felt like we could taste the mission of Locavore and sweetly experience the goodness of their offerings. Don't miss the roasted cauliflower and my meat eating significant other swooned over the duck sausage. Oh, and the passionfruit sorbet dessert and the bright cucumber soup and the delicate hamachi and the beets and feta...
and the special drink (infused with rosemary and pomelo!) that the manager made up.
We had a chance to discuss the idea behind the restaurant with one of the owners and because of his sincerity, our experienced was enhanced even more.
They could possibly work on cooling the place down just a bit (I like it hot, but the Australian next to me had to go out for fresh air) and the bench was slightly uncomfortable for a long meal. But GO!

“superb, fine dining in a casual environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Delicious, inventive food in a beautiful space with delightful chefs who personalize everything about the experience. I had dinner and was thrilled to be able to squeeze this in.

Generous portions. The hamachi appetizer and rabbit entree were particularly noteworthy, along with the rujak (practically a salad in a glass).

Lovely people and very fair prices. I look forward to returning.
