Our favorite part of Ubud was spending time at Padi Organic, a beautiful, local family owned restaurant serving delicious food surrounded by rice paddies.
One can get caught up in the business of Ubud and the plethora of restaurants. But Padi Organic is unique. First and foremost it is locally owned by a wonderful couple and their young children. That seems be rare in Bali with foreigners owning many businesses. Second is that it is located minutes from their home just outside of the city center in a traditional village surrounded by working rice fields. Leave the congestion and take in some fresh air and see Bali how it was. Third it's organic - and you sit amongst the gardens where your food is grown. Fourth the food is delicious and the presentation And attention to detail is incredible. The setting makes you want to spend the day sipping a healthy juice.
We loved our time there so much we returned for a cooking class with the owner. For the first time my husband prepared a meal and used a mortar and pestle! It was a sight to see!
I cant recommend Padi Organic more highly and would love to see this locally owned family business have great success- as it should with karma.
