Description: Dear friends, dear visitors, dear travelers, The Fair Warung Bale is a resto, a social workshop, which is an integration program of the Fair Future Foundation and the Bali Sari Foundation (State Approved NGO in Indonesia speaks by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, and the Swiss Confederation, under his control). The purpose of the Fair Warung Bale is to give you true happiness, absolute fairness and transparency, as it is 100% of the profits that are used in the actions of free healthcare for people in Need in Indonesia (primary mission of our both foundations), to the needy population. It's thanks to you, we build clinics, health centers fund, use our own medical staff (4 doctors, nurses 5-8) operate a mobile clinic that visits the villages with a professional medical team. All youth who are active in Fair Warung Bale are there for a specific reason only of their own and personal. They are not professional, before no one had ever done this kind of work. They are 18 "Managers" of the place, they are the ones who run the place without any manager or real boss. It is also part of the contract, accountability. At the Fair Warung Bale, you eat very hearty dishes which were all created and invented by the youth, the Angels of the Foundation: The Curry house made, made with real spices bought from the market, fresh local traditional dishes (absolutely nothing is never prepared in advance). Giant Shrimp, Bluefin Tuna, Marlin, Mahi-Mahi grilled with butter, garlic, the Indonesian style real dishes also. Giant salads, Bluefin Tuna Tartare, local desserts, pastries, chocolate mousse (Switzerland ;-)), lime pie with meringue, Cheese Cake, fruit Pie, crepes and pancakes and the famous "Sweet Spring Rolls" of the Bale, and so others many things made with love. Every dish you eat, every drink, pays a free medical consultation to a person in need or it provided medical assistance over the medium term. To date, our last clinical example receives over 25,000 patients per year, 80% of them, treatment is free! They are with you. The new hospital foundation this year (2014) will be created again, the project already started in the District of Klungkung, on three islands. Both foundations don't pay government tax. However, if you wish, you can help what we do by making a small donation in the small "Donation Box", located on the counter. You will receive a certificate of donation that you can use for all purposes. Thank you very much for your kindness, your interest, your visit and all the love that your small business, you bring us. And do not forget to stick you, your own small stone wall of the Foundation! Already more than 7,000 pebbles lining indeed our walls! The Board of Trustees and all the angels Fair Warung Bale

“More Than Just a Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

After reading the reviews of this place on tripadvisor, I wanted to eat here. We went on a Sunday, but was told that it was closed. We went on Monday then. We got there around 8 p.m. We didn't have a reservation. Fortunately, there were seats on the perimeter of the restaurant. This restaurant is small. After we were seated, there was no more.

I loved chatting with the owner. He has such a wonderful personality and big heart. Proceeds of your meal help a local clinic. So just by eating and drinking here, you are helping out. We also got little stones to decorate for their wall.

The food was really good as well. It was a great deal.....even after leaving a donation for the clinic.

“quaint cosy place! :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

Din't know this place was in Tripadvisor Thank God mum was wise to have reservation on a Tuesday night. Tucked in a small street off monkey forest road in Ubud , this café/restaurant can sit around 30pax. Below is its affiliated clinic which provides free medical aid to the locals. (refer to: http://www.fairfuturefoundation.org/fairmedias/pdf/what_we_do.pdf for more details) Was nearly full-house when we reached. Managed to find a cosy inconspicuous corner at the balcony which sits comfortably up to 8pax around a square table above the street! no smoking allowed.

A family of us (5 pax) tried the daily's special -sweet & sour chicken, tuna fillet, red curry curry. everything was cooked well & we combed our plates clean! Ended the night w dessert- Crepés! You can choose from a variety of toppings. Our choices: nutella (& bananas) and strawberries!
Wonderful & reasonably priced dinner. Our bill was 500,000+ rps (food, drinks & dessert). We even met the owner- Alexandre Wettstein & took a pic with him!
This place wouldn't cost you a hole in a pocket plus some proceeds will go to upkeeping its clinic. Free wifi available.

A very highly recommend place for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
p/s: they even conduct cooking classes- with reservations from what i heard :)

Good food. Good atmosphere. We came 9 people without a reservation and they managed to find us a place even if the restaurant was full. Super friendly owner!

“Good cause, very average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

Driven to it by endless positive reviews we had to try for our selves. We should have read between the lines when everybody refers to the "food with the twist of a good cause". Indeed it is a very noble concept and any place that promises a fair go for the sick and needy needs support. The food is the western version of Indonesian with a gravy taste and a middle class price tag for Indonesian standards. Come here if you feel the need to do good, for superb food and real local support choose one of the tastier and cheaper endless "Warungs"

“Very Tasty Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We were on our honeymoon when we found this place by accident really. We were out walking and smelled some delicious food. The owner, Alex, talked to us and told us that the restaurant supports a health clinic downstairs. We thought he was just trying to butter us up and that the food wouldn’t be good. Well it was good! The menu is inspired by both Indonesian and Thai flavors. We ate there the last three nights of our stay (wish we had found it earlier) and were satisfied every time.
