My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights. When we arrived we both had the flu :( The wonderful lady who was checking us in asked us if we would like some herbal tea and we said yes. It was so delicious and such a nice gesture.

Upon arriving into the beautiful room, there were flowers in a love heart shape on our bed, we thought this was a cute touch.

We were so surprised when we had a card in our room with a basket of fresh fruit hoping that we get better from our sickness. We were very touched :)

Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, and i would have to say that this place was one of the nicest places I have stayed at, with wonderful attentive staff who remember your names.
I had a massage there as well and whilst it was more expensive than one from the street shops, it was so lovely and worth every penny.

Komaneka at Monkey Forest is that kind of hotel when exquisite unbounded asian beauty is emphasized by a high-class service.24- hours room service and internet lounge with all the facilities at your request. Breadfruit trees, mango trees, tangerine trees just outside your door. And all this just in the middle of the town.
People who work there deserve a special praise.You stay there just for just 3 days- but they already know that you are vegetarian and that you like snake fruits- so pancakes without eggs on breakfast and a free plate of snake fruits every day. And that amazing girl Yuly gave us a really hot deal in their Spa (we really could't expect that much). By the way Conde Nast claims on of their hotels (all in Ubud) to be the best spa in Indonesia 2012.

This was a truly great find! On the main drag but away from the hustle & bustle! Our beautiful room was on the ground floor with our own separate entrance & courtyard. It was our anniversary & a lovely cake was provided. The breakfast was yummy with freshly squeezed juices. Even the little computer room upstairs was great. The staff were friendly & happy! The afternoon tea did not look so appetising but some may like it. The flowers on the bed were a special effect! My glassed wall bathroom was exquisite!! Ubud is well worth a stay!!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Komaneka at Monkey Forest in Ubud. Firstly the hotel is so intimate, you almost feel like you are staying in someone's home, your home. The location is central to everything, restaurants, bars, shops, warungs and local attractions. The staff really made the stay special, it was very personalised. We stayed for 7 days and would have loved to stay longer. We did the cooking school the hotel offered and as we had already attended another cooking school in Sanur, the staff arranged for our chef/instructor Sugariatha to show us the dishes we hadn't already seen and really wanted to know. These dishes we had eaten locally and weren't in their recipe book, so our chef/instructor wrote a book for us specially and the team in the hotel typed and bound it. We really had a fabulous time and whilst the Komaneka group has other premises in the area which are probably just as nice ( & they offer to show you whilst you are there ), this one holds a special place in our hearts. Never enjoyed a hotel so much. Do yourself a favour and stay there, we are so glad we did.
