Absolutely beautiful hotel…one of those places that you cannot describe, you will just have to experience it. We were here on our honeymoon in early October 2009 and the hotel and staff did a wonderful job of welcoming us and were extremely friendly all week. The villa was fantastic with its own pool and outdoor shower.

The only negative is that it is so nice at the hotel that you will probably not want to go out and sight-see. Just kidding, but this is truly a top hotel in the world. Trust me, I travel every week for work, this place is "off the charts"

The resort is beautiful, located by a river and surrounded by the jungle. Its architecture is something you can't explain. We had a riverfront villa that we never wanted to leave. The rooms are not new, but they are still incredible. Service is very good. The Spa is also very nice with efficient staff. We had dinner once and the food was excellent. Great shop. What can I say? Definitely a MUST in Ubud.

We stayed at the FS Sayan on our honeymoon after spending 3 nights at the FS Jimbaran Bay. I think staying at these two properties is a great idea because they are very different but still offer the same great FS service. The architecture is amazing as are the grounds. Our villa was right on the river and we liked the room and bathroom a little better than the one we had at Jimbaran. The resort is small and was not near full capacity so very quiet. The bar and restaurant have great open air space and views of the whole river valley. I had an amazing spa treatment in a spa villa. We had several tours and activities while we were staying there including elephant ride and river rafting (highly recommend). The hotel has a shuttle every 2 hours into the town of Ubud which is great. I took a yoga class at The Yoga Barn in Ubud and my husband had his favorite meal of suckling pig at Ibu Oka. There were a lot of bugs and I would definitely recommend using repellent. You are in a very lush part of Bali and it is amazing to see the farming of rice and all kinds of vegetables and fruits. The pool was small but we didn't have time or the right weather for lounging which we were there. Service is great in all areas and the Balinese people are extremely friendly. Highly recommend going into Ubud for dinners as there is a lot of choice and much less expensive than the hotel.

This hotel, nestled in the jungle, offers a fantastic scenery with amazing views on the Ayung river. It is very "james bond" like, in a good way. I have loved the lotus pool floating above treetops as well as the hot tubs overlooking the jungle and the river. The Spa is very good.
Our suite was very spacious and the bathroom one of the most beautiful that I have enjoyed.
The service was outstanding and the personnel really made us feel home. We took a cooking lesson with the chef and had lots of fun doing so. It is a short drive from Ubud which is quite a vibrant city in its way, full of lovely cafés and restaurants with an active artistic life. Not easy to get away from the touristic painting galleries, etc but after a couple of days it's easy to find your way around and spot the genuine piece of work. cannot see any downside, it was a great experience.
