“Harmony and Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We were 4 + my five months old daughter staying in the 2 bedrooms villa.
From the very first minute at Zenubud, we felt away from the world.

So many things are great about Zenubud:

1) The location: you are right in the middle of the nature, facing a beautiful landscape of jungle, but still 15 minutes from Ubud. The only slight issue is that the few hundreds meters before reaching the villa are a quite bumpy, with the road going in between some rice fields.

2) The Villas: I can only talk about the 2 bedrooms one. The decoration is simple but elegant. The layout is really good and the view on the jungle is just stunning. Best is to look at the pictures on their website (knowing that in reality it is way better)

3) The food: since we had a infant with us, we took most of our lunches and dinners at the villa. There is a nice menu. I tried most of the dishes and loved them. It feels fresh and healthy and tastes just fine.

4) The staff and the overall service: that is my last point but is possibly the most important: the owners are nice. Leaving you in peace but available if necessary. There is also a complete team for the house management, the food, the massage. All these people are very gentle and caring.

There are a lot more good things about Zenubud, such as the swimming pool, the massages, and the overall feeling of relaxation and tranquility.

During my stay in Bali, I went in 2 other villas but Zenubud was the best.
My wife and I really wish to go back to Bali and for sure we will stay their again.

Julien.

Very nice B&B - perfect for a romantic trip. The grounds are absolutey amazing, the bungalows are very well kept, the pool with view, etc etc. Highly recommendable if you are ok with beeing a little away from Ubud downtown. Would always come back!

We had a fantastic trip at ZenUbud - staying one week in Feb/March 2013. It is about five - ten minutes drive from central Ubud and a little off the main road (you need to travel along a dirt road; costing approximately $5 US one way to get to/from Ubud, organised by staff at ZenUbud). It is in an amazing setting overlooking rain forest and a river, and very quiet (apart from nature sounds). The accommodation was lovely - modern and clean (I would recommend incense to keep bugs away). The kitchen has all the utilities you need (good fridge, stove and sink), and there is a big Delta supermarket on the drive to/from Ubud where we bought groceries (snacks, drinks, etc). The pool was beautiful and it was very private - we stayed in the 2 bedroom villa, and the 1 bedroom villa was vacant for most of our stay, so it was like we had the pool to ourselves. A 3 bedroom villa is currently being built, which may change the feeling of privacy a bit. The staff were all great and very friendly - you can organise to have breakfast and/or dinner at the villa. We had breakfast every day (for under $4US pp) which was fantastic (fresh juice, eggs, pancakes, fruit) and at least half of our dinners there (between $11-13 US for three courses) - beautiful food (restaurant quality) and would definitely recommend utilising this service as it was great value and so lovely to be served dinner in your villa overlooking the view (much quieter than going into Ubud). You can also organise to have massages there (only $10US for an hour) (a very private open massage villa with two beds at the bottom of the property - with a fantastic view... so relaxing!). If you organise a tour with pick-up, you may need to walk up the driveway to get to the driver as it is quite steep and thin (approximately 200m walk uphill). There is a path nearby with steps all the way down to the river - lots of steps (! and a few dodgy ones!), but a nice experience going right down to the river. Would definitely recommend to friends and will stay again - a great location and setting (central but very private), lovely accommodation and fantastic food/services.

Room Tip: The two-bedroom villa is right above the pool, but both villa's have great views!

We loved Zenubud! From the owners Christian and Cécile, to the house manager Dewar (so sweet!), to Coma the cook (she cooks from the heart), to the masseuses, to the garden guys, the cleaners - all gorgeous people! Everyone was so friendly and warm, the pool is gorgeous, the food was just fine!
It was a couple of degrees cooler than Ubud too.
Open villas allow creepy crawlies in which was fine by me but scarey to my friend! Makes you feel like you are in an amazingly different place.
Slightly remote from town which is just what we needed. After the rains the road was a bit dodgy though - maybe over time a bit of gravel will help! Such paradise here - God's own country!

We had a wonderful and unforgettable experience at Villa Zenubud and would highly recommend it..The pictures online are beautiful, but to see it live is even better, fantastic!! We found the villa to be perfectly located - away from the busy streets but only a short distance to Ubud. (We used a motorcycle, It was very fun)
The pool in the jungle was like a dream and outdoor area & fantastic garden was also clean and well maintained. You will also find a helpful, kind and very sweet staff who help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Sure, We will be back for more!!!Thank's for all Christian!!
