I once dined here in 2009 (after recommendation from my driver) and vowed never to return again. I returned to this restaurant 3 days ago for lunch with friends, who were also led here by their driver.
The experience was just as bad as it was 3 years ago. The fried duck was overly dry and tasted a little rancid, a telltale sign of poorly prepared duck meat. The rice was dry and hard. In almost all aspects - food quality, service and atmosphere - this restaurant terribly pales in comparison to Bebek Bengil and Bebek Tepi Sawah, the 2 highly rated restaurants serving this dish in Ubud (another review, another time). One wonders how this restaurant is able to survive after all these years. But a quick scan through other comments on Tripadvisor reveals that customers are usually brought here by the drivers.
No price for guessing how much the drivers get out of our bill.
