i came here shattered and disconnected as single woman for a planned for 2 nights with plan to explore then return to course accommodation that starts tomorrow. I have decided to stay my entire 10 day trip and cancelled other booked accommodation. I feel so at home safe and love being out of the busyness of central ubud. The area is just superb with some amazing healing places across the road: Cantika for massage through the rice fields and Alchemy for western specialist alternative healing, and a organic wholesome restaurant. just up the path is more divine food place/hang outs situated amongst the rice fields plus the most perfect yoga studio and powerful teacher Linda "pranula Yoga" i have expereinced. I am so greatful to be here and now am feeling revitalised and inspired. If you need nurturing and having peaceful alone chill out this is it. peace and love. Kadek and all staff are the epitomy of the charged bali spirit of gentle kindness

Room Tip: I am staying in upstairs room furthest away from swimming pool

We had a lovely stay in a spacious bungalow, well equipped (no AC, but Ubud is in the mountains so its quite fresh and you wouldn't need it) - a nice swimming pool was just the thing for relaxing after a busy day.

The grounds are very nice, a small rice field in the middle and several bungalows scattered around, but well positioned so that we felt like being all alone. Perfect porch for relaxing at evenings or during the day, separated from the main garden and pool area by vegetation.

We also had a kitchen (that we didn't use, but might be useful for longer stays) and a fridge which was nice.

Located a bit outside the busy parts of Ubud, that makes it very calm and quiet. Its a walking distance, but our advice would be to rent a scooter (either from the owners here, or anywhere else) for easy access to Ubud and trips to other places in Bali.

Perfect. I had a wonderful time staying here. Relaxed, quiet, comfortable, secure.
Wonderful customer service from the owners; efficient, friendly and caring.....I really was looked after!!! The location is terrific, with back paths with little restaurants, rice paddies, fantastic vegetation, and then a walk down some steps to get to the main road and a taxi into the Ubud shopping area, or you can walk in if you like walking. I had a kitchen that was spot on for my needs, and a lovely fresh breakfast was included each morning.
I stayed here for 2 weeks and really can't find a negative thing to say and would go back again without hesitation. Highly Recommended. Thanks to K & W.

We recently stayed at Gerebig yet again! We have been returning there from time to time since our first stay in 2002. Hard to really explain why we like it so much: feel, privacy, the pool built 2 years ago, rooms that are mostly being renovated/updated as the family's budget allows, the lovely friendly and chatty owners. The breakfasts are simple but more than adequate; fresh fruit, a hot item such as pancake, jaffle, omelette etc. & tea/coffee. Kadek will source out local "makanan pagi" foods from the Ubud market on request. There is no airconditioning but there are fans.
All in all it is a great place, the verandahs are very private and a great place to kick back and have a cold drink out of the stocked fridge.
We will be back there in June again, can hardly wait!

Room Tip: Rooms 2, 3, 4, 5 & 9 are the picks for me for couples/ small families. The others (6, 7 & 8...

Stayed here with my girlfriend first time in Indonesia, was brilliant.
Great pickup from airport, to a paradise in the hills of Ubud.
Perfect location short walk (5 mins to resturant), a short stroll into Ubud for shopping & monkey temple!
They arranged a great MTB tour, resturants etc..
Awesome breakfast, very lovely couple made my stay in Bali great.
Local so they know where to go (and were to avoid).
The pool was fantastic and did I mention the breakfast!!!
Thanks guys Kate and I will be back cheers!!

We had a lovely time staying here. My parents had a room with a small kitchen and I had a top floor bungalow. Breakfasts are included and tasty. The family that runs the place are friendly and welcoming. This is a relatively easy walking distance from Ubud, but that distance is key, as the neighborhood is pretty quiet and surrounded by rice paddies. This was a great place for us and they're willing to negotiate longer stays at a good rate. They also held our stuff while we took a trip to Ubud. I would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool are nice and have views of the paddies.
