“I wasn't expecting the pizzas to be that good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012 via mobile

We were staying in Sanggingan typically at a time when both Nuri places were shut for holidays. Disappointed we walked up the main street to see where else we could eat. There was no one at this restaurant and pizzas made by a Japanese chef sounded a little dubious but we decided to give it a go and I'm really glad we did.

Both my husband's pesto and rocket pizza and my Pepperoni pizza were really tasty, both a little unusual (in a good way) with nice bases too. My only small complaint was the wine in a carafe was awful but I know the Indonesian wine isn't anything to get excited about so it was to be expected.

“Pizza for a change”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

If you have a carb craving after a while in Ubud, this little place will suit. Really tasty pizzas, and it's worth having the daily special for either lunch or dinner. Great value.

“Excellent Pizza in an unusual place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We were staying at Kori Ubud and this was about a 5 min walk from there. It is not very large. It has a few tables on a small patio and 2 more tables that are a little more covered. They had a nice menu selection of pizza and Italian food (mainly pastas).
We decided on the pizza. I would not say it was the best pizza in the world, but it was very tasty. As my husband was growing up he worked for several pizza chains and delivering pizza. He knows his pizza well. He was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the crust. It was also very reasonable in price.
We talked about going back to try the pasta, but it never worked into the schedule. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a try.

“a nice surprise in Ubud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

We were staying at The Beji Hotel and Fiore Citta is about 50 metres down the road. First of all we were not going to try it, then two Foreigners pulled up on their motorbikes and went straight in. So we tried it. Being Pizza lovers we went for the Margherita & Salami, both were well made (home made Pizza bases) and well cooked. We would certainly go back, a nice surprise, good food and pleasant staff

“The New Yorker must be wrong”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012 via mobile

This place advertises itself with a slogan: "the best pizza in town - a New Yorker". Not sure who this New Yorker is but he must be wrong. I'm wondering whether this is really a restaurant. They only have a few tables, all outside near the road and they also have a shop where they sell kimonos. Maybe that explains the Japanese reviews. We were with five and ordered spaghetti carbonara (my faughter and she thought it was OK), spaghetti arabiatta (which was just terrible and had nothing to do with a real arrabiata, slimey and watery spaghetti with some sauce), a salad which was nothing to write home about and a pizza that should even by NY standards never be called the best in town - bland, no taste, very forgettable. The best part of the meal was the bottled big Bir Bintang that came at a reasonable price. Sorry to say but this place is not worth the effort. Will avoid.
