“Go for a show at night, enjoy the fantastic buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Behind the monkey forest was this unexpected fine-dining opportunity, that since it happened to be on one of the days they had a cultural performance, also had a full buffet. Although I was the only one to get it, comparing it to places that had similar shows and small, isolated elevated tables, this one was a great value, and made great food without trying to do too much. As the buffet changes with the kind of show that was on, I got to try a handful of balinese specialties, and even got a piece of roast duck in a special duck sauce prepared and brought to the table even if it was not part of the buffet. The noodles and duck were great, and their juices were refreshing, not to mention a phenomenal avocado juice, that is a must while in Bali. Show up early and score the best table.

“Gorgeous & Very Bali!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

My daughter and I attended a cooking class here with a tour group from Perth. The class was lead by the absolutely gorgeous Yini (loved her on sight)! We had a delicious fruity welcome drink, a tour of the herb garden and then the cooking class. We made a number of traditional Balinese dishes including sticky pumpkin rice dessert, chicken salad, chicken skewers, peanut sauce and more. I will definitely be cooking the recipes at home for my friends. The cooking class kitchen was spotlessly clean, the food fresh and the lesson was clear and enjoyable.

The restaurant has gorgeous huts beside ponds and gardens so you can dine relatively privately if you like. I will definitely bring my family back here.

“Great Food, Good Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Tried the Nasi Campur in Laka Leke, it was much much better than nasi campur we tried in a famous warung in Kuta, both in quality and quantity.
The pinneaple juice was also the best i've tasted in bali. Atmosphere in this restaurant is peaceful and serene. They also have dance performance every night except Sunday and Tuesday night. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely dine there again when I visited Ubud.

“Stunning.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Laka leke is a restaurant set in beautiful gardens with everything from romantic small bales (open air roofed buildings) to larger ones catering for groups. You can sit at chairs on on cushions with low tables on elevated platforms. There are cultural performances several times a week.
The food is reliably good. I've eaten there repeatedly in 2010 and this year. The menu is extensive with many Indonesian and some more western-style dishes. Not as cheap as Warung food but good value given stunning surrounds!! If you're staying in Nyuh Kuning you can't miss it and its worth travelling to if you're elsewhere in Ubud.

“Nice place in monkey forest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We accidently found this place as we wander around the monkey forest in ubud. Place was beautiful with garden settings, comparable to the old bebek bengil before renovation. And interestingly their highlight is also the crispy duck. The duck is crispy enough but still had a smell. Service was so so. The place is the same owner with cafe wayan (also in ubud). Those who like cooking, they also have cooking school here.
