“Thumbs up for the chef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

During our stay at The Mansion, we had almost all our dinners at Indochine Restaurant. Kindness and attention of waiters is above expectation, food is just great, menu varied, with Caviar for the best treats.. we enjoyed the tranquil ambiance by the panoramic pool!

“overpriced and average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

We ate at The Indochine while staying at The Mansion resort and spa in April 2013. Not feeling like trekking into Ubud we chose to try the restaurant and were disappointed. The prices were almost double what we had been paying in town and the food was very average. The staff was attentive and slow (many were still in training). I got the cajun chicken which was barely spicy by U.S. standards much less the excellent Balinese cuisine we had previously sampled. My wife, who is a chef, found her pineapple chicken to be bland as well, not what we expected from a 4 or 5 star restaurant. Those stars might have been relevant years ago but their luster has definitely dimmed.

“A great setting, a good menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

The menu at the Indochine, located in The Mansion, an idyllic hotel just a few kilometers outside Ubud, is extensive. The dining rooms are essentially art galleries. This is a fine, romantic place to have dinner near Ubud.

“Indochine”

Had a great selection of western and local dishes - I had steak and vegies and it was thoroughly delicious. Top pana cotta dessert - really enjoyed the meal and the outdoor setting by the pool

“Great food, slow service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The food here is amazing. We ate here 3 times, and were never disappointed. The staff are slow, and getting a second drink can take a while, but all perfectly lovely. A little mystified to see a cat walking ON the tables that were unoccupied....:-(
