“Pleasant 3 nights stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Spent three nights in Casa Ganesha. My two friends and I certainly have a pleasant stay. We had the room on the second floor at the corner. Quiet and peaceful location. The staff were friendly, greeting and smiling to us when we walked pass them. The room service was good! Even though we did not request for clean towels after room make up, they still will put up fresh towels for us. The breakfast was filling and nice too!
Location wise, just that it's not located in the Ubud centre. But for that, we have a quieter environment. Nearby have several Italian food. We went Mamma Mia twice for dinner! Their food are affordable. And it's about a 15 minutes walk to Monkey Forest.

I spent 6 nights at the hotel and found it to be a delightful experience. The rooms are spacious and the first floor rooms have outdoor showers, which in the tropics is a nice touch. The staff was attentive and helpful and the breakfast menu had a number of options so that the choices could be varied. Everything about the place is comfortable but it is not the Ritz so those wanting luxury probably should make another choice. In my case, I found the experience to be spot on and the number of restaurants and shops that were nearby is another plus. The restaurant is a good choice for dinner as well.

In Ubud it is probably not easy to find bad accommodation. It it almost impossible to find anything polite, friendly, smiling people in all aspects of life. So Case Ganesha represents these things but it is an ordinary hotel with ordinary rooms in an ordinary setting. The rooms are clean but basic. They have a really bad plan for lighting with switches in funny places and inadequate lights. The staff are typically pleasant and helpful. The food is good by Asian standards but merely adequate by Ubud standards as food is this area is truly exceptional by comparison to most areas. So no complaints and no plaudits.....

We stayed here for 5 nights recently. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The room was large and clean.
The breakfast was ok, but a lot of salt and sugar. The fruit portion was also quite small, 6 pieces of fruit.
The only negative part was that a jar of Clarins product went missing from the room. We informed the manager and he asked his staff but as it is a key access it could have been someone not involved with the hotel.
The location is good, although the description of a few minutes from the market means 7 minutes drive. The hotel do offer a free one way shuttle service to the market.

Stayed at Casa Ganesha for three days. The hotel facilities are excellent. It's location to nearby attractions and local restaurants is ideal.Monkey Forest is just a 5 minute scooter ride and Yoga Barn is about the same. The hotel restaurant serve great food with both asian and western food available. The staff here are courteous and professional. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ubud to stay at Casa Ganesha.

We stayed for 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay at Casa Ganesha. After our first night, we had to change rooms because the AC was too loud, but the staff were accommodating and our second room met our expectations. We had a room on the second level, which had bathrooms with screened windows to outside. They provided basic toiletries, kettle, with coffee and tea, mini-fridge and safe. Phones do not have an outside line, but reception let me make local calls for no charge.
We rented scooters from a place down the street ($3.50USD per day) and appreciated having a parking spot at the hotel with 24 hour security. The pool is small but was perfect for a cool down. They provide pool towels at reception so you don't have to use your room towel. It is close to the street, so you do hear some street noise, along with the occasional smell from the dense traffic.
Breakfast was great, and the Wifi is stronger out on the balconies and in the lobby/restaurant. Everything you need is close by, including a local night market and petrol station across the street. There are many laundry places close by, but much cheaper if you walk away from the city. Do not use the place just outside of the hotel as it is the most expensive. Keep walking in the same direction and you will save more than half!

Although we were happy with the hotel and the staff, I would recommend staying here for 2 or 3 nights to get familiar with Ubud, then move on to a hotel outside of the city centre to get more piece and quiet. Ubud is now very touristy, so we enjoyed going out on the scooter and getting lost in the rice paddies. The locals in the villages are extremely nice, and would direct us back when we stopped and asked. Along the way we some some great hotels with amazing views and out of the busy city.

Overall we had a great stay and we recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: For better wifi, get a room closer to the lobby

My mum, sister and I stayed here for a week and we have been very impressed by everything casa genesha offers. We arranged an airport pickup before we arrived through the hotel and the driver was friendly and drove safely. The rooms are cleaned daily and they always do a great job. We especially love the big shower head and the outside shower is a fun change! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. They also provide a complimentary shuttle to ubud area which is approx 5 min drive (away from the hussle and bussle). Breakfast each day provided for ample choice. Aircon in the room is lovely to come back to after a hot day exploring. Overall we cannot fault them, we were very happy. Thank you Casa Genesha! Katherine, Belinda and Desley from Australia
