Warji Homestay was more than I had bargained for. I read other reviews and have to agree that it was well worth listening to the good ones and trying it out myself. I stayed at Warji Homestay no. 1. (Apparently now there's a 2nd branch that's more tucked away and has a better view of a small rice field). Homestay no.1 was extremely central yet ohhhh so quiet! You don't hear the noise that's typical on Monkey Forrest road or even the parties that go on till late at night. The price was right and it comes with breakfast served on your Verandah each morning. The manager for the homestay (Ketut Suta - or Nyoman) and his wife were extremely kind, courteous and helpful. Ask him just about anything! He'll ensure you get the best! Bookings are made through the owner (Widya - see online) and she was fabulously helpful from the time I contacted her till when I got to the homestay. She can arrange for you to be picked up from the airport if needs be. It was low season so I was given a great rate of 180,000 per night which I was happy with.
The place is simple but neatly kept and soothingly relaxing. If you're looking for something well within budget, central but not too fancy - just enough to meet your basic needs but with warm service and lots of smiles - then Warji Homestay is your place. I'll definitely return.
