“Sunny Blow - Hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

Stayed here twice in early April 2012. The hotel is located about 5 minutes out of town which I liked as central Ubud is very busy and touristy. The walk into town gave me the opportunity to look around, investigate and just relax. The hotel is a mixture of traditional Balinese architecture with a Japanese flavour. The rooms are beautifully furnished and helped you feel immediately relaxed. My room had an exterior bathroom in its own private landscaped courtyard. A beautiful European or Japanese breakfast (delicious) is included and served overlooking the pool set in a lush Balinese garden courtyard. The beds were turned down by invisible fairies each night and the staff incredibly friendly and polite. I had eaten at their Japanese restaurant in Sanur, so it was no surprise that the food at their Ubud restaurant turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. Try the “sakitini” at the bar before dinner.
You could not find a better place to stay in Ubud and the place simply reflects the owners attention to detail. To the friendly staff and Miho – Suksumo! (Thankyou) …………… john (Melbourne)

We had a wonderfull time here. The staff is so kind and nice they really made our stay outstanding. Go for the Japanse breakfast it spoiled us for the rest of our trip.
It might be a bit far out of the centre of Ubud but really worth it! But the walk to Ubud centre takes you past some fine sites you want to visit anyway.
The rooms are clean, and the surroundings are great. It was a nice visit.

We stayed for 12 days here at Sunny Blow simply because it was so relaxing and beautiful and the food was the best we found in Bali.
The staff are caring, very friendly and yet not 'in your face'.
The rooms and the whole ambient has a touch of surreal, if you are not used to wonderful Balinese style decor, plus the abundance of flowers and trees as though you are living in a garden.

It is a small cosy hotel with just 8 bungalows where you feel like in the middle of a forest. The perfect place if you want to escape from noisy and crowded resorts. Moreover, the staff is really wonderful and welcoming. They try to make your stay in Ubud wonderful.

Our deluxe room was very spacious for three people and decorated very nicely, with a queen bed surrounded by mosquito netting. The extra bed had no netting, a pitty.

And what to say about the breakfast... delicious!! We could try traditional Balinese and Japanese breakfast.

It is about a 5 minute drive from the center of Ubud, but it is within about 30 minutes walking distance. It is a hidden place next to Naughty Nuri's and Minami Japanese restaurant.

We definitively would go back!

Last summer, seven of us stayed at Sunny Blow Villa upon the recommendation of Brian who owns the Nuri's Warung a few doors down the street. We were not disappointed with the accommodations. Our deluxe room was very spacious for two people and decorated very nicely. The hotel owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to leave very early one morning to catch a tour, so the girl who prepares breakfast came in extra early to make sure that we got our breakfast before we left. They accommodated our schedule and that is great customer service in my opinion. This is something we probably would not have received at a larger hotel. The location is great, with restaurants and bars within a short distance from the hotel. Their driver will take you to Ubud town at no charge, or you can walk the half mile or so into town. I am planning another trip to Bali soon and will definitely try to stay at this hotel again.

At the time we made reservation there were no reviews of this place which made us a bit apprehensive. Upon arrival our fears disappeared and this place turned out to be one of our favorites to have stayed on our trip. Although it's about a 5 minute drive from the center of Ubud, it's within walking distance if you have the time and energy. We have a nice bungalow accommodation (1 of only about 8 total) with a Queen bed surrounded by mosquito netting and a lovely outdoor bathroom. No TV's, phones or air conditioning, but the ceiling fan was adequate and the place was very serene. The swimming pool is quite small and had a swim-up bar, which, although not manned, we were allowed to use it for the drinks the staff fetched us. Breakfast was included and although simple, was delicious. The staff was very polite and attentive when needed and we promised that if we went back, we'd be staying here again.
