After reading many great reviews, I obviously had a higher expectation. The room we stayed was filled with beds with old mattresses and a smelly bathroom. The location is great, a few steps from the market. However when in Ubud, we wanted to experience a bit of rural view surrounded by paddie fields, enjoy listening to nature sounds at night, and basically chill out. We heard that even the central area of Ubud town had some paddie fields left 10 years ago but it's all developed now with so many restaurants and souvenir shops. After walking around the busy buzzing touristy area, we just wanted somewhere homey that I can go back to relax and feel real Ubud. After staying Sania's for one night, we left for an amazing guesthouse in Bisma - 10 minitus walk from the centre of the town. It's in the middle of paddie fields and the rooms are so clean and decorated with beautiful Hibiscus flowers every morning. Sania's buildings were beautiful old Balinese style. I do not mind old but do mind messy and not kept clean. They could do better giving their place a bit more care. There are so many better places if you don't mind staying just outside of the centre. 10 mins walk is not far at all when you can get to stay somewhere with lovely Ubud surroundings.

Located in the centerof Ubud, about 2 minutes from the main market, it is a great location. Every morning tea is brought to your balcony before you wake up. Breakfast is included. They have amazing mixed fruit juice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room 3 is right next to the pool with AC. Highly recommend

This is a great little find and very central. we booked for 1 night and ended up staying 4.

For the price we paid $30 US per night it was excellent value for money. Rooms were really decent and clean, plus A/C. We had a beautiful balcony and pool. They delivered fresh tea every morning free of charge. plus fresh fruit came with our breakfast free of charge.

there is also a nice pool, which you normally wouldn't get for this price.

would definately recommend this place if you are looking for something cheaper and right in the heart of town.

We got this place by luck as there were no rooms available when we got in Ubud. The next day we started our hunt for a room and luckily found vacancy in Sania's House. When we got there they were doing improvements to the outer wall. We walked through and there were people creating offerings for the alters and hand making some food. It was a very family run place and lots of gardens everywhere. The rooms are very well decorated yet very simple. I was highly impressed by the service here. The only draw back was that they tried to sell us on some tourism packages, but I was fine on looking past this.

Every morning you get a complimentary breakfast that was simple yet good. The pool was well kept and very clean. The scenery was even better.

This place is located almost directly center of Ubud. The alley this place is in leads to the Market and you are right around the corner from Monkey Forest Road, which is the main strip. It was easy for us to stumble back to our rooms after a long night of partying.

Over all this place was rather cheap to stay in as well. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Ubud from all walks of life.

After reading reviews n tips from Joliflor (thank you), we decided to book a room with Sania to give a try as this will be our very first homestay. Well, it was a good choice! I would say Sania's House is valued for money, clean, helpful and excellent location. Breakfast is included but limited choice and yes, they do provide towel. You have a choice for room with or without air-conditioning. Spa, cafe, traditional dances is around the corner. There's also a wet market in the morning if u turn right from Sania's entrance towards end of the street - going upslope. You get to try some local delicacy, spices like saffron for cooking and good bargain for souvenirs here -if you are buying, do bargain at least 30% off the quoted price!

I have stayed in Ubud several times. Once of those times was at a posh hotel that cost $200 a night and had a private plunge pool. I've also now stayed at Sania's House. I MUCH prefer Sania's house because of the location, friendly face, and laid back atmosphere. The rooms are basic, but VERY nice and new. Great airconditioning, private bathroom...and right in the middle of town - but quiet at the same time. Just can't imagine staying anywhere else! If you're one for super posh, and high end room service and fancy everything...then you won't be happy. But, if you just want to chill, feel more like a local, get some authentic smiles and have a great place to relax, read a book, sit by the pool, and have easy access to great restaurants and shopping...then this is your place! $30 a night is all it cost me!
