“Too good for words”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Bambu Indah isn't a hotel or a resort, it's an experience. From the moment you arrive you are in an eco-paradise, sat with a cup of fresh coconut juice watching the gardeners tend to the organic veggie patches.

We stayed in Kolam House, the only house to have it's own private garden. While the views from Kolam don't look across the valley to the neighbouring rice paddies like the other houses, Kolam boasts privacy and your very own fish pond. Even though the houses are eco in size and set up, there are little touches of luxury (I wish I could get Bambu Indah's organic shampoo at home!)

Afternoon tea with home made banana bread every day, morning yoga, relaxing massages and delicious breakfasts to set you up for a day of Ubud exploring just add to the overall experience. We loved the natural pool, chatting to the horticulturist in the gardens and taking in the view from the treehouse (once my legs had de-wobbled!). Staff are so friendly and helpful, they made you feel like it was a pleasure to help you.

Bambu Indah will stay in our memories for a long time. I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Kolam House is lovely and private, Afrika House has great views.

staffs very nice be ready to help in any request with smiley face
all towels smell very nice
yummy food but only 2 choices each lunch and dinner (quite small meal)
full of natural, frogs, birds, bugs, little snake
house too expensive with the price
pool seriously need to scoop out the algae, too much seem dirty dont want to jump in
real natural pool doesn't mean it will full of algae in the water
just keep scoop out everyday will be ok
algae at the edge is ok but quite challenging safety
*strongly recommend for natural friendly customer

Dear Valued Guest of Bambu Indah,

Thank you for reviewing us and for sharing your constructive feedback.

We are expanding our restaurant kitchen (and portion size) to better serve our guests' dining needs and experience. An exciting local menu utilizing the freshest ingredients from our organic gardens is in the making and we hope to welcome you back to be a part of this new dining concept at Bambu Indah's Dapoer restaurant.

Bambu Indah's natural pool consists of lava stones and a vegetation regeneration zone that naturally cleanses, filters, and oxygenates the water and nurtures beneficial bacteria, createing a natural pool that does not use chlorine, algaecides, or cement. The only pool chemical that will kill an algae growth is chlorine-based.

We apologize for your unpleasant experience with our pool; we seemed to have underestimated the rate of growth of these algae. Our pool is cleaned and maintained daily; the edges scrubbed thoroughly to keep them safe and free from algae. We will make sure to conduct regular inspections to keep the algae away.

On behalf of the Bambu Indah family, we thank you once again for taking the time to write about us.

Warm wishes from the Sayan ridge,

Management

I have only the most wonderful things to say about Bambu Indah. For starters the property is gorgeous and the hotel rooms are individual huts giving you an authentic Balinese feels. The rooms are amazing, we stayed in the room that had a glass floor and you could see the pond below us. it was magical. All rooms have AC and mosquito nets, so you can open the windows and enjoy the breeze.
Bambu Indah has great turn down service and come to your room at dusk to close windows and light incense to keeps bugs away. To describe the staff as friendly is an understatement. Everyone was so wonderful and so eager to help point you in the right direction. The on site restaurant provided us with many awesome meals too, very delicious foods, a lot grown on site in their organic garden.
The pool at Bambu Indah is very fun too, highlights the natural beauty of the area w its shape, feels like a natural pond equipped w a rope swing.

I was in Bali for a few weeks for my honeymoon and this was by far my favorite part of the trip highly recommend staying at Bambu Indah. Facilities are beatuiful and amazing, the staff is so sweet and helpful, food was delicious and the setting was unreal.

I stayed in Kuno House on 11 & 12 Mar 2013. The House has a remarkable view across the valley and is beautifully sequestered. The staff service was excellent, and the home cooked food very tasty. The Estate is a remarkable place for exploring, especially if you have kids. The rope swing and natural pool was a great hit with my kids. The views across the valley are superb and the walk down the spiral steps and across the bridge down to the river valley is a must; if you love nature, Bambu Indah is top drawer and not a stop to be missed in Bali!

Room Tip: The houses with the best views are Kuno, Africa, Java, Elora, Kuning and Padi

This Vila is very magical !
Me and my husband stay there 2x already .. once we stayed in padi house and africa house for the second one
the first time was December 2011 and only for a night and we were sad to leave !
we love it so much so we came back in may 2012 with 10 of our friends and we had a ball there !
The rooms are amazing ... our friends stayed in kuda house, elora, kuning and padi ... all the rooms are equally enchanting !
the food is so fresh and very tasty and organic - breakfast was too good to miss
The service is very2 good ...
the pool is one of the best pool i've ever been ... the water is so refreshing .. : ) and not forgetting the rope swing !!!
Actually we want to come back again this year, however when management change ... the price increase a lot .. for a return customer the previous manager gave us a very good discount ..
and now with the new management ... no more discount ... we would be paying double .. than the price we were paying previously .. its very disappointing that the new management not honoring it !
however .. apart from that ... this villa is one of the best accommodation in Bali I've ever stayed in !
but if you are a light sleeper .. might need an ear plug to block all the wonderful nature's noise !
and lots and lots of mosquito repellent is a must !

Room Tip: Padi house, africa house, kuning house have amazing view africa house have an amazing brass bath t...

We visited Bambu Indah for the second time in January 2013. And again we loved it.
It's a perfect place to relax. If you're up for activities or entertainment; it's only a short drive away form Ubud. We stayed in Udang house a.k.a. Shrimp house with the glass floor. Perhaps the most beautiful house out there...
Further more we really enjoyed the food at Bambu Indah. No need to go out for lunch of dinner. When we return to Bali, I am sure we'll stay at Bambu Indah again.

Room Tip: Udang House

Bambu Indah was a fabulous experience for my family of 4. My 14 year old daughter loved having her own room in the Bamboo Tower and my 8 year old son commented that the natural pool with the rope swing was the best hotel pool, ever. The staff was friendly, everything was very clean, and they made our Christmas and New Year's very memorable. One of my favorite activities was sending up wishing lanterns on New Year's Eve. It's clear the staff has a good time there by their welcoming hearts. Lots of local excursions to go to, but quietly tucked away from the hustle of Ubud, too. I would highly recommend Bambu Indah to families or couples. Also saw lots of people traveling solo and they were always engaged with the staff and relaxed. I did not partake in any spa services although they were offered.
