Since we left Bali, Bamboo Indah has been a frequent topic of conversation. We miss that place and long to go back. It is peaceful and dreamlike. Almost to good to be real. The property itself is tranquil yet stunning. The landscape and architecture could not have been done better. Each cabin/cottage is unique and has a piece of history to it. Our cottage(Jawa Lama) was clean and peaceful with dark woods, white linens, large wooden doors, our own front porch, and large beautiful windows to the colorful outside surroundings. Our bathroom was impressive with an exotic but beautifully refined outdoor shower. One of my favorite features. Nothing like a hot shower under the cool rain. The food was one of my favorite things about this place. Rich earthly flavors. Everything we had was done perfectly. Great presentation and service. A garden is situated next to the restaurant that is open to the outdoors. Some of the food come directly from that garden. If you are strictly a steak and potato eater, then I suspect this type of food may not suit you. But if you love fresh healthy foods and rich flavors, this is the place. We never left to eat elsewhere. 100% satisfied with the menu and preparations.
Ann(general manager) was awesome. She is very kind and was very helpful. She has a peace about her. We had several issues with a rental motor bike we had traveled on from Kuta to Bamboo Indah. The plates on our bike were fake and her staff recognized the issue. We called the company to take our bike back. With the help of Ann and her staff, we came to an agreement with the motor bike company. The company was going to pick the bike up at Indah but much later than our checkout. So with Ann's help, she arranged a driver for us to our next location, and kept the bike for us until the company came. She also gave us the refund money for the company as we left, all in good faith that the bike company would keep their word.
On a better note, my husband arranged a romantic dinner that was beautifully done. We had a couples massage one morning which was calming and rejuvenating. We were on a second story of the main bamboo structure that looked over the property in a small bamboo hut for the massage. The pool was unique and fun. The rope swing was awesome. I do have to agree it is more like a pond than a pool. But if you like to play outside, then this shouldn't be an issue.
We would go back and definitely recommend Bamboo Indah to others. We stayed two nights and would have loved to stay longer. The price was worth the experience, but high for Bali. Also, I forgot to mention all the organic body products that are in the rooms. I LOVED them.
