We spent 5 nights at Pondok Ayu and were pleased with the choice.We found it to be a well-kept, quiet property with very friendly staff. Although it is 12 years old it is of good quality and very well maintained.The rooms are quite -well soundproofed with no adjacent room noise possible.It is a great value, even if it is about a 15 min walk to the beach (or $2 taxi ride).
Breakfasts were very nicely prepared, with a nice variety of fruit, juice and tea or coffee, cooked eggs with bacon and tomato or pancakes, and bread/toast.
We arranged 3 day trips with Gede, and found him to be an excellent driver and guide. We really enjoyed meeting all the employees who all seemed to take pride in their job and seemed genuinely interested in helping the guests. Being a small hotel, it was easy to meet other guests too.
