“A good port in a storm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2011

We stayed two nights in Ari Putri in October, 2011. It has a nice pool with swimup bar, airconditioning, tv and bath tub Lots of older Europeans who stayed for weeks and months at a time. Impossible to get a sunbed the entire time, as they seemed to stake out their territory and were most unfriendly. Our room was a bit dark and dingy and needed a proper cleaning, but it wasn't terrible. The lady at the front desk was quite probably the most knowledgeable and accommodating lady on the island. We got stuck in Bali for tree extra nights because of a komodo island tour fiasco and she became our new best friend.

Beds were low and wornout but sufficed for $26.00/night. About a 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 minute walk to the Bali Hyatt and some fancier (and much more expensive restaurants) than we found on the other side of the island. Hotel was also excellent in answering e-mails. Breakfast (included) was quite good and served upstairs overlooking the pool area and gardens.

This is not the romantic hotel you envision when you think "Bali", but it worked for a couple of days. I am very happy that we spent the first week at a more upscale and "happening" hotel.

We stayed at the Ari Putri Hotel for 5 nights in August. We had seen the hotel before when passing by at earlier trips to Bali but this was our first visit. The hotel is built in a typical Balinese style. The rooms are pretty spacious but some maintenance should be done in the near future. Especially the beds are in a bad condition. Our room was in the third floor, very quiet and a beautiful view from the balcony.
Breakfast was included in the price of 350,000 IDR (about 40 US$ per room). Eggs prepared as desired, coffee, tea, juice, noodles, rice etc. Nothing very special but I had a lot worse breakfast before in much more expensive hotels in Bali.
All in all I can highly recommend the hotel for travelers who do not need the high luxury but want a nice quiet place to sleep for a good price in a good location.

The hotel is in an excellent location right by all the restaurants and shops. It has a pool, comfortable bed, AC & TV. With the price/location combo, the accommodation is almost perfect. Some things they could improve on - wifi that works, shower water pressure and a hair-dryer available to borrow (there doesn't even have to be one in every room). I also found it odd that when I asked for water at breakfast, they said they didn't have (only juices and coffee)...how can you not have water?? If you don't mind any of these shortcomings, then the hotel will be perfect for you.

If you don't like this place then you are too picky for any type of travel. The rooms, pool and location are perfect and the included breakfast is the best I've had in my 14 weeks in Asia. Awesome place!

The Ari Putri hotel was the first of four places that I stayed in during a three week trip to Bali from the UK. As a starting point for my trip, it was more than adequate. Sanur is a quiet beach town in comparision to the likes of Kuta, so may be more suitable for those wanting a more peaceful and relaxing trip.

My driver from the airport had no problems finding it and although I found the hotel to be closed (it was four in the morning to be fair) and locked which caused me a moment of panic, a member of staff arose from their slumber to let me in.

The room itself was a bit musty smelling, but on the whole was clean and tidy. The bed was a bit lumpy, but after nearly 28 hours of non stop travelling, it might as well have been a bed of nails for all I cared! The bathroom was also clean with a good supply of towels and a decent (and controllable) shower.

The breakfast was simple but tasty - nice poached eggs, toasts, juice and a selection of fruit. I was given some strange looks when adding milk to my tea, but as a Brit, that's how we do our 'brews'! There is also another restaurant for evening meals located in the hotel grounds, and although I was told by fellow travellers that it was quite nice, I didn't use it myself, instead opting to dine out in Sanur - which is home to some very nice restaurants.

The hotel pool was quite small but was very clean and had cool little bar built into it. It could get a bit crowded at peak times though I would expect.

The staff were very friendly (like most Balinese people in all fairness) and even let me use the internet for free a few times - it's these little touches that make the difference.

Overall, this hotel was about what I expected for the price, but certainly one that I would consider staying at again.

Room Tip: Go for a ground floor room with chairs outside.

Ari Putri was our first place of stay whilst back packing in Bali. The hotel iteslf has a comfortable atmosphere and the staff are friendly even the cleaners will smile and notify you when you pass by. The room was of a reasonable size, the bed quite comfortable and the room being fairly clean but the pillows a little sad and old looking. The bathroom was excellent with a powerful and hot shower, large mirror with a marble sink. The balcony we had looked into the main square of the hotel which had lush vegetation and a simple pool that seemed popular. The breakfast that came included was good and classic Bal,i where if you like eggs and toast then your very much sorted. However there was plenty of fresh fruit and the odd cake and muffin/doughnuts avaliable to the side of the room.
We wanted to stay in Sanur for two nights because we wanted to have a quiet stay, initally before moving to partying in Kuta and the hotel and area are certainly quiet. It is also about 10mins walk from the beach but a small bemo ride to the main area of Sanur to be all honest, however if your looking for a comfortbale and quiet stay than this hotel does exactly that.

Stayed here for 3 nights and chose this small hotel for its location and price. The rooms are dated (think brown floral curtains etc) but they are clean and the bed is comfortable. Chairs on the balcony were old and worn. Breakfast, though simple, was better than expected - they could cook poached eggs perfectly which is not always the case in even more expensive hotels. Lots of older European couples staying long term to get away from their winter. And why not - at only $US30 a night with a pool, breakfast, air-con, fridge, Tv with lots of channels, it's a very good deal.
