“Cheap & cheerful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Very impressed with the hotel, I was originally placed in a room which was close to the main road & overlooking the worksite (which will only improve the hotel), I asked for a room move which I was given & had a lovely view of the pool & restaurant.

The room was a very good size & the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant had a good menu & the food was very tasty.

The staff were extremely friendly & cheerful. I arranged a pickup & drop off at the airport which was great with no issues. I would have no hesitation in staying here again if I ever visited Bali again

Room Tip: Rooms next to the pool are very quiet. there is work going on around the reception desk which will i...

Excellent situation of rooms/bungalows within an idyllic landscape of gardens and fountains, excellent service, friendly staff, great breakfast and pool (with pool bar). Don't get put off by the 'outdoor' showers - very clean and we saw no bugs in our one. We got a massage at the hotel spa facility - very relaxing though of course more expensive than outside, but still reasonable. They have tours/drivers that you can use for day trips and very helpful in suggesting eating places nearby. A bit of a walk from the "main" street of restaurants but hardly 10-15 mins and they offer a free shuttle service. Only 8-10 mins walk to the Monkey Forest. There is a bar next door for late night pool games and a convenience store right opposite for an ATM and stamps etc

Right from the welcome drink to leaving, I had a great stay at Sri Phala. Nestled among lush tropical gardens with a clean refreshing pool, such friendly and accommodating staff. Only a short walk to shops and beach, didn't hear traffic noise at all from the busy road at the front entrance of hotel. Felt safe and secure at night too.

The spa is underrated. Ideally situated in the gardens it is a peaceful haven to unwind and have an excellent massage from Wayan the resident masseuse. I went back there many times during my stay and came away totally calmed and relaxed. Pleasant looking down on the massage table at a lovely little bowl fresh flowers.

Breakfast was ample and varied, the restaurant staff so nice.

The Superior rooms don't have much of a view and there is construction going on next door but that wasn't so much of a bother at all. The only complaint I have about the entire place is that the bathroom was just not clean enough, the bottom of the bath was black and the toilet needed a good clean around the rim, the floors need to be washed daily as well, nothing that a bit of good old fashioned elbow grease wouldn't cure.

Room Tip: Pay the bit extra and go for a room / villa in the garden

Rama Phala Hotel is well located, very near Monkey Forest Sanctuary and 20 min walk to the market and palace in center Ubud.
Very nice place and rooms, good breakfast.
Ubud is a must in Bali. Many, many temples, excellent places for shopping, plenty of restaurants.

Contrary to their website not all rooms have garden views. Ours overlooked the worksite mentioned in numerous other reviews of this property and we also had a lot of traffic noise from the nearby main road which goes 24/7. Even without the worksite we still would not feel that the view from our balcony was anything to write home about. The room was nice and clean but the bed was very hard and had large bulky pillows. WiFi only available in the lobby and restaurant/pool area. The restaurant was small and breakfast options negligible. The staff were very friendly and accommodating which helped drag up the experience from poor to average as, although cheap, is still questionable as value for money.

I visited this place in end of July for a week vacations to Bali, with my wife & 10 month old daughter,

Location of hotel is good, near to beach, stores & main road,

They offer buffet breakfast, but they don't have much varity, my wife is vegetarian so had a little problem about choice,

Only thing I love most is Pool, due to less room pool is not much crowded, so you can enjoy any time, over all experience is good

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel and had a bad experience. Room was sober and extremely smelly. Hotel might be good for families but nof elderly couples. Hotel is under reservation, we could not use balcony as working people in new building were at same level at 30 feet distance. Matrass was 6 inches to small for bed? Never again!
