“Our beach wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Absolutely amazing, the accommodations, the customer service, the food & the staff. My wife and I stayed in the penthouse suite Room 801 during our Bali stay in July. The hotel organized our wedding perfectly, the wedding dinner was a never ending serving of the most delicious foods we have eaten in a long time. Although the hotel is a bit old, the entire experience was superbly brilliant and I would highly recommend this hotel, its staff & the food to anyone. We want to give a special thanks to Lokita & Andrie for making us feel much more then just welcome and giving us wonderful memories that will last forever. Even when we left our room to check out the housecleaning stopped what they were doing came over from across the way, shook our hands and thanked us for staying at Sanur. Great Job everyone !!!

My daughter and I spent 2 days at this place prior to going to Nusa Lembognan. The staff were SUPERB!! especially NYOMAN in the cafe. The rooms were a bit shabby -- which I feel are overpriced. However, upon arrival they had a lovely birthday cake waiting for me! The pool was terrific. However the gym had no A/C and was small in comparison to the incredible gym at the Padma resort in Legian. Much quieter than Legian. Take a walk along the path in front of the hotel (beach side)-- it goes for miles which is great if you love an early morning walk or jog. There are some lovely hotels that are adjacent to the Sanur Beach hotel. I also found that the beds were too hard. But a good hotel if you want to stay a couple of days.

We enjoyed our week at the hotel. Our kids loved the pool in the morning and the beach in the afternoon when the tide went out. We liked walking along the esplanade and seeing the shops and other hotels in the area. The breakfast buffet was a highlight of our day, and the traditional dancing was worthwhile for people who were not prepared to invest a lot of time or money in search of Balinese dancing.

Stayed there for 4 nights, 30 years married and birthday celebrations, cannot complain one bit about this hotel, huge pool, good size room , 41 sqm, location is the best, plenty of nearby restaurants and the walk along the beach front is amazing, just loved this place.

We stayed here with our 13 yr old daughter for 11 nights in July. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room and the view out over the pool to the beach was gorgeous. Downside of the room was the bed was quite hard and there isn't really much storage other than some hanging space but if you don't mind living out of your case then its not a problem. Room was quite spacious enough for the three of us. Staff were very friendly and the location at southern end of Sanur was great with plenty of restaurants and shopping just outside the hotel on both the beachfront and the road. Room was serviced promptly every morning. We hired bikes and rode the length of the beachfront on the path and I think this hotel has the best pool and beach area which is very well maintained. Each evening the Bamboo Bar has happy hour and three lovely guys played and sang while we relaxed with our drinks looking out to the ocean. There is a shuttle service run by the hotel to Hardy's supermarket but you can also walk to the hotel entrance and pick up a taxi which costs about 5000 rupiah which is roughly 50 cents. From Hardys north or south there is a great range of shopping and restaurants. We would stay here again.

We had a pleasant stay here, but it is very much the corporate side of Bali. Except for the strategically placed gamelan players, you could almost be at a tropical resort anywhere in the world.

It is one of the older large hotels in Sanur, and some signs of wear etc. are visible, but nothing that had any affect on our comfort. There are two nice big pools and of course the beach. The beach is fine for chilling out, but like all of Sanur it is only feasible to swim at high tide. The real surf breaks on a reef about kilometer from the beach, so the water is very calm. At low tide it is essentially a mud flat.

Breakfast is elaborate and quite good. We only had a little of the other food; it was nice too.

Most guests are European, predominately Dutch and also quite a few French.

Overall, a pleasant place to chill out for a few days at the end of a long trip; but if you want to get any real flavor of Bali you have to go a lot farther from the airport/Denpasar/Kuta area.

Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) had 5 nights here at this great place. We had 2 interconnecting rooms (which was great having 2 bathrooms). On the ground floor was also great as we didn't have to both with lifts. It was light, sunny, roomy, clean and very quiet. The hotel set in amongst lovely bush was in a great location on the quiet end of Sanur. It was a welcome rest from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Awesome being right on the beach. The breakfast was so extensive, you could have something different every day - fantastic. We ate so much we didn't each lunch. Dinners were good too - especially the Mongolian night with the dancing. The staff were all very friendly except the lady who booked us in - who was rather cool. It was also great having a doctor based in the hotel. Overall would stay here again and would recommend it

Room Tip: We think it is the best hotel to stay at while in Sanur and worth paying a bit more for.
